The Accident

The helicopter hovered above the trees, expertly piloted. It had been flying for two hours then in a moment of inattention from the pilot it clipped a tree. Sending it crashing to the ground.
“OMG. Billy, Dads going to go mad when he sees the mess we’ve made of his new toy.”

Cutting the pain

Shut the door , shut them all out  cover your ears

Pull the curtain, drop the latch wish you could shut out your fears.

The pain is building, pumping in your blood,  echoing in your head .

Find the tin box, the one you hide , with the knife and tissues under your bed.

Put the light on take a deep breath not long now release is at hand.

Take the knife watch it cut , cut deep see the red line expand

Seeping out it takes the pain , make it work this time again

Make it work deeper we go  , damn it’s gushing tissues quick make no stain.

Why won’t it stop , just watch it flow

Making all my pain and fears go

I am feel so cold ,I can’t stop shaking

Falling, falling all is fading something is all my agony taking ………………….

Car Crash

Hey come with me , she said. I can’t I am trapped I said shaking my head.

Here she said come here I am holding this door open and your way is clear.

I moved towards her and I took her hand, she had a fearsome grip come she said you’ll be just grand.

Minutes before it had been a normal day, on my way to work another week just to get my pay.

I was just driving normally when I saw this car coming at me from the other way.

He over took a lorry and hit a central bollard, hard. As I saw the bottom of his car sailing towards me I thought.” I’ve been dealt the final card!

My door is stuck fast and I see smoke. I begin to panic, come on , come on she said , move to me there is no need to get manic. I do as I am bid though I don’t hold out much hope.

She is right , this bright young thing . She helps me to the curb, there is blood all down my legs funny their don’t even sting. The police are here now and an ambulance followed by a fire engine.

Everyone is running round and as my car bursts into flames the fireman start to shout. They are forcing my car door open I start screaming at them, ” its all right I am here, I am out.”

They don’t listen nor do they see me , then as they stand I can’t believe my eyes I am in the drivers seat ………… I’ve died?

So who are you I ask. Feeling so confused and scared , I am Death she smiled. “who” I asked, again she smile and whispered you heard!

You don’t look like death I said , you are too young you can’t be Death if you are Death, that would mean that I am dead. She put her arm around me and smiled at me and said “I am sorry, none of that was your fault. Now off with me you now head”

There was no point in arguing and she did look so very kind. There was nothing else I could do. I really do not want to leave this world but I am dead  and that  is true.

Heartland Echoes

Welcome to my “Heartland Echoes,” where I aim to share my poems with the world, along with my survival story and autobiography of childhood abuse, motivational quotes, and much more. Through my words, I hope to inspire others to share their own stories and experiences. Each poem is a piece of my heart and soul, along with a story of a traumatic past, crafted with inspiration, Hope, faith, love and passion. I believe that by sharing our art and emotions, I’ll be able to connect with others on a deeper level and create a sense of community.
