What If Social Media Was Just…Social Again?

I barely open Instagram anymore. And if you have been following me for a while, you probably noticed. It is not that I fell out of love with sharing. I fell out of love with the platform. And I think a lot of you feel the same way, even if you have not put it into words yet.

What happened to Instagram?

Do you remember when Instagram was just…photos?

When you opened the app and saw what your friends were up to, what your favourite photographer captured that morning, or a quiet sunset someone wanted to share with the world? I do. That version of Instagram was special. But that is not what Instagram is anymore.

Meaningful Conversations

Hey everyone!

Mie Storie crossed over 1000 comments/conversations recently.

This is phenomenal! It’s so wonderful to see that all of you have such great conversations with each other.

Some of you have been going back and forth with each other for almost 2 weeks. And this is exactly what this is supposed to be. Bringing social back to social media.

We are getting to know each other and connecting with each other. There’s no quick like and scrolling to the next post. We are interacting and engaging with each other thoughtfully.

I don’t know about any of you, but to me it’s much more meaningful. No one is counting the total amount of likes or comments, but instead measures the depth and meaning of the conversations being had.

What If Someone Actually Cared About What You Posted?

What if engagement meant something again? What if sharing your work actually led to a conversation?

If you feel discouraged because you keep sharing your passion or hobbies but no one is seeing it, no one is engaging with you, and no one shares the same love for the craft, I highly recommend giving Mie Storie a try.

Some of you will get more meaningful engagement in one week than you have in the entirety of your time on other platforms.

After just 10 days since launch, we already have 30 users, 100+ posts, and 600+ conversations. It might be a small community, but it is highly active. And that is what it is all about. Not leaving a quick like and running off to the next post. It is about really engaging with the person and what they are sharing, and over time, actually getting to know each other.

Everyone on it so far is loving it, and more importantly, they are showing up for each other.

You don’t need a bigger audience. You need the right one.

Mie Storie – My Story

Mie Storie. Meaning My Story.

https://miestorie.com/

This is a place where you can share your story. Through photos and articles, long or short.

I grew tired of most social media apps being cluttered with absolutely everything.

I’ve been sharing photos and writing articles on my website for many years, and I thought it would be amazing if someone made a simple app like that where everyone can do the same.

So instead of waiting for someone else to do it, I tried it myself.

It’s a working progress. Most of the app works as it should.

There are no likes because I find them too easy and superficial.

It’s all about the conversation.

If you like someone’s photo. Tell them.

If you like something someone wrote, let them know.

If you appreciate what someone said about your photo, give them a sincere reply.

There might still be a bug here and there, and I am working hard to make sure everything runs smoothly.

But for now, I hope all of you enjoy this website and app!

For those wondering why you aren’t seeing any stories when you open it for the first time. You’ll have to create an account and follow people to see their stories.

Read Unspoiled

I did a thing.

Read Unspoiled – https://readunspoiled.com

I’ve been on WordPress for over 10 years, and I’ve always been aware of the large book community here, and I dip into it every now and then.

After a bit of digging and research, I found that there’s something lacking in the space. A place where readers can talk about and discuss books chapter by chapter without any spoilers at all.

That’s exactly what this new website is supposed to be.
Just a place where everyone can come together and do that.

I’m completely open to any suggestions, improvements and features you’d like to see.

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
