Simon Tiu

Simon Tiu is an investor at Vertex Ventures US, backing visionary founders in AI-native enterprise software and infrastructure. With deep expertise in machine learning, software engineering, and strategic finance, Simon enjoys helping technical founders navigate complex business challenges and scale effectively.

Previously, Simon advised leading technology companies at Qatalyst Partners on ~$100B in landmark M&A transactions, including Splunk, Afterpay, Coupa, and New Relic. His blend of technical and strategic experience uniquely positions him to support founders in scaling transformative companies.

Simon started his career in management consulting and corporate strategy. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys rock climbing, chess, kitchen experiments, and striving daily to earn the title of "World’s Best Dad."
