Confession....

I'm going to 'out' myself so that others feel up to doing the same thing!!!!

I haven't even looked at starting block 2 and 3. I've thought about it. Fleetingly. Not gotten any further. The thought of it actually scares me beacuse it looks like a huge block. I have SO MANY block 1's of BOMs finished. SO MANY! I never seem to get past block one. I HAVE TO GET PAST BLOCK ONE!

let's set aside an hour in the next few days (choose your own.. we don't all have to do it at the same time!) to get block 2 and 3 under way. I'm actually going to do them as separate blocks because I think I'll work better with that idea.

I better get stitchin'......

I finally pulled out block one and finished off tracing it. Not really a job I love to do - but I guess stitching doesn't get done without it!! My aim is to have the birdie block finished today and then I can start on the outside border. I love chain stitch. It's not something I've ever done until I started Leanne's Down In The Garden BOM. I just love the effect it makes. Thanks Perri for your tip on how to finish chain stitch off so it's invisible.... I still haven't mastered it... but I'll have another read of your post now that I'm up to chain stitch!

How is everyone else going?? (For those of us that are a bit slow?!)

Missing....

I've been missing for a bit! I'd been waiting for my Cosmo threads to arrive (which they now have)... and had the first block all sewn ready to go. I now can trace it and iron on the Parlan onto the back and start stitching.

We had a really lovely weeks holiday at the beach and are just getting back to organising Buster Jim (Mr 5) for his first day of school next week. Once that's all done then I'll have more time to get stitching!

My aim is to get at least a bit done before the next magazine comes out!!!

Hard part - done!

I've really surprised myself by getting this all cut and pieced in a couple of days! I did get the kids involved and they counted how many squares or triangles I had cut out in each colour. Really made more of a mess than anything - but it kept them occupied so I could sew!! I may have learnt a lesson about ironing the fabrics FIRST before I cut them. The pink and white spot for the stitchery section isn't so straight but I didn't notice it until I actually ironed it when it was sewn. OOPS! It's okay, I'm sure I can even it up later if need be. I was going to trace it straight away - but I think I'll leave it until I have my threads so it's not sitting there - the soluble pen I use tends to fade a little when it just sits there.

I can actually see progress!!

How are you going with yours? I know there's a few people waiting for fabric or threads as well.
