Card Of The Week - Pure Florals Chrysanthemum

Happy FriYAY!

I thought I would pop by and share a card using this week's Card Of The Week clear stamp set, Pure Florals Chrysanthemum.

This is my original card featured on the website...

And here is how I used the set today.

I love this flower, but I often don't have the patience to colour it! So I am always looking for fun ways to add colour.

I came across THIS card on Pinterest and really liked the idea of adding a splash of colour with the sentiment strips over black & white stamped image. And I thought it would perfect with the Chrysanthemum.

I was going to use the sentiments from the stamp set, but knew I wanted three colours like my original card for the strips of card. So I had a look through my stash and came across the Sentiments Outlined and this sentiment was perfect.

Shame I couldn't adhere them straight! Oh well, I still love how it came out.

Don't forget that the Pure Florals Chrysanthemum is 15% off this week, until Monday morning when it'll change to a new product.

Also, did you see that a whole bunch of clear stamp restocks arrived yesterday and are now available on the website.

I know there are many of you waiting for the Christmas in July and August 2025 Releases to come back in stock. These are in my next batch due on 26th November.

The best and quickest way to know when a product is back in stock is to sign up for the notify me when back in stock feature. This also helps me with ordering restocks.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Smile, it's Wednesday 😃

Hello & Happy Wednesday.

I'm slowly catching up and getting back into routine now The Beans are back at school. It's lovely to be back in a routine, but it's oddly quiet without them home!

‼️warning‼️

Long post ahead, lots to tell you about. So grab a drink and get comfy 😃

The Beans turned 10 on Monday, can you believe it? I'm not sure where the last decade has gone, it has flown by for sure. Here are a couple of photos for those who like to see. If not, just scroll on past to my inspiration today!

Josh is on the left in blue and white stripes and Ben is in red on the right. These were the birthday cake requests I got this year!

And here they are on their first day of year 5, just this year and next left in primary school before they head off to secondary school. Again, Josh on the left and Ben on the right.

Yesterday on Instagram and Facebook I shared these two cards for #twofortuesday using the Stencil - Layering Bauhaus Blocks which is now back in stock, along with lots more I will tell you about shortly!

First up I went for a bright and cheerful colour combo of Blueberry, Oceanside and Sprout. I then stamped the sentiment from Sentiments Outlined (now back in stock) over the top.

Then with autumn just around the corner I went for an autumnal inspired colour scheme and a kraft card base. I used Wheat, Nutmeg and Spiced Cider and paired the stencil with Natures Treasures II and a Simply Said Blocks sentiment.

I wasn't sure about this card at first, I think it was my offset layout. But the more I look at it, it is growing on me!

So last night instead of going to sleep, I lay thinking of more ways I could use the Stencil - Layering Bauhaus Blocks that I haven't done already!

And this idea popped into my head...

My idea was to combine the stencil with the Background Blocks MOD Builder (now back in stock) with the stencil to create a spotlight effect. At first I wasn't sure if it would work and when you look at this first flat lay photo it doesn't have a lot of impact.

But if I show you from this next angle you can see the raised elements a little more clearly. It's a spotlight come paper piecing technique.

My colour combo is one I have used before and really liked, Rainforest, Watermelon and Parsley. Again my sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks.

After I made the card I got to thinking that you could also combine the Stencil - MOD Background Builder the same way. The stencil elements are a little bigger than the stamp, so would be a little easier to cut out and adhere.

So I've decided I will do a video tomorrow and share my process that way. It'll be posted on the Uniko YouTube channel.

As I mentioned earlier a whole bunch of restocks arrived in the studio. A few stencils and some popular and requested clear stamps...

Phew! That's a big bunch of restocks 😍

AND that isn't all the news...

To add a little cheer and celebrate double the double digits with The Beans turning 10, I have discounted 20 products by 20% in the SALE section on the website. The sale is online only and will end midnight (BST) Friday 13th September 2024.

Ok, I think that is enough news for now!

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Birthday Inspiration

 Bonjour !

Izzy here. As Bev already mentioned it, February at Uniko is a month of celebration, and this year Uniko is celebrating its 12th birthday ! As every year, there's so much planned for February at Uniko so stay tuned to discover what Bev has prepared to enchant you !

Today I'm here to inspire you with a card and of course it is a birthday card. As I already told you, I always struggle when it comes to make a masculine card but recently my teamie, Steph, made a post (see HERE) where she shows that stripes and a good colour combo solve this problem.

So that's what I've done. I dug out the beautiful Bauhaus Blocks set and I used it with a more or less masculine colour combo.

First I stamped with no-line colouring ink each square of the set on a piece of white card stock. With alcohol markers, I coloured them. Then I put them back in the MISTI and I used Versamark ink to be able to heat emboss them with gold embossing powder.

I fussy cut each square and I flat adhered them on the white double card and then to finish, I gold heat embossed the sentiment coming from the Sentiment Outlined set.

Et Voilà ! That's all for me today but don't forget to come back everyday since you will discover all the great surprises Bev has prepared for you. You can also treat yourself with the great 12th Birthday Stamping Retreat where you will have a fun day of stamping ! For more information click HERE.

Two For Tuesday

 Hello & Happy Tuesday.

It's been a while since I did a Two For Tuesday post and it just so happened I made a couple of one layer cards using a mix of Flower Power and Sentiments Outlined. I kept the layout the same for both, but just switched up the flowers and sentiments.

I started by stamping the sentiment in black ink from Sentiments Outlined and then scattered the solid flower from Flower Power #7 in Sorbet and Honeysuckle C9 inks.

The leaf is from Flower Power #6 and stamped in C9 Parsley. I finished the design with some Gloss Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Drops to the centre of the flowers. I also coloured the sentiment with an aqua shade of Copic Marker.

For my second card I used the rose from Flower Power #6 and this time stamped them in Poppy and Honeysuckle C9 inks.

I thought the 'Have a Perfect Day' sentiment was a nice choice and this time I stamped it in turquoise and coloured in the closest match of Copic Marker.

Two fairly quick cards and wonderfully mail friendly!

That's all from me today. Thanks for stopping by.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Christmas in August

Hello

It's Wiebke here with a new Brand Ambassador Inspiration for you!
Time for "Christmas in August"!

I don't know, how other countries govern the selling of all the sweet Christmas goodies like cookies and chocolate-stuff.... Here in Germany the supermarkets and grocery stores start to sell all these things usua at the end of August (but my family is not one of the first who needs to buy them!).

So, only a few days left until the christmas mood may start for some people!
I have a new Christmas inspiration for you, thereby you can join into the feeling too but without sweets and calories 😉!

I stamped the sentiment of the Festive Sentiments Outlined Set in a dark blue colour and covered the letters with a clear sparkling pencil.
The Designer Die Sparkling Snowflake I cut out of a colour fitting dark blue cardstock and covered it with sparkle too.

Another close-up of the sparkling sentiment.

I adhered the snowflake to the cardbase and embellished it with light blue rhinestone stickers. The bigger stickers in the inner circle fit in there perfectly.

A close-up of the dimensional embellishments.

Snowflakes and sparkle are always a great combination!
There are so many possibilities to add glitter and shimmer to the icy beauties. - This time we used a Wink of Stella brush and the rhinestones.

Next time maybe glitter glue, metallic foil, embossing powder, sequins or glitter flakes....
Which sparkling element is your favorite one?
When you check out all the possibilities, your christmas card production will be done in a very short time!

Hope I was able to inspire you a bit and make you starting early enough this year to be prepared and have a stress-free pre-christmas time!

Crafty greetings from Wiebke

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Invitation au voyage

 Bonjour !

Izzy here. For you who have not gone on vacation or for you who already wish to leave again, I invite you today to follow me on this trip.

We will start our cruise aboard a beautiful sailboat ...

For this card I used the Nautical Treasures set for the sailboat and the compass rose. I stamped in dark blue the sailboat on a stitched square card stock as well as the small compass and the sentiment stamped in red.

To make the large white panel background, I used the Anchors stencil to emboss. Then I used the Background Blocks Pinstripe to make the thin stripe panel behind the sailboat.

The winds being favorable, we will not take long to reach the Pacific Ocean and its islands with a tropical climate.

For this second card, I used one of the Background Builders Arts Décoratifs stamp to illustrate the wave on the ocean. I simply blended three blue Distress oxide inks shades on a white panel, and once dry I repeatedly stamped and white heat emboss the waves.

For the hibiscus flower and leaves I used the Paradise and Paradise Leaves that I stamped with Altenew inks on a white card stock and I white heat embossed the outlines before fussy cut the images.

In order to see these magnificent flowers more closely, we will dock on one of the islands.

I get inspired by Yana Smakula's recent post to make this card. I stamped the hibiscus flowers around the edges of a white panel then with some masks, I stamped the leaves. I coloured them with Copic Markers. I also coloured the background and then I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment which comes from the Sentiments Outlines set. To finish I flat adhered this panel on a double white card.

I hope you enjoy this little virtual journey as much as I enjoyed making these cards. Thanks so much for visiting Uniko !

Take care and have fun crafting safely at home !

DT Inspiration - Playing with Background Builders Stars & Triangles

Hello there, it's Sarah P here and massive apologies as I seem to have been AWOL for the whole of summer BUT at last I'm here with another DT Inspiration post.

Whenever I've not been crafting in a while I struggle to focus; not knowing where to start ... do you have that issue?

My preferred option for getting back into it is to pick up a couple of stamp sets and ink colours that I love and jump right in. That's what I've done with these!!!

I hope you like them!

My GO TO stamp sets were the Background Builders Triangulate, Background Builders Seeing Stars, the latest Sentiments Outlined set, released in July plus another of my favourite sentiment sets; Birthday Wishes.

Up first with my stars trio, just basic stamping with a masked area, on these first 2 to insert the sentiment, and to finish a couple of enamel dots ...

Then having created the stars one in the colour combo above, using promarkers I decided I'd carry the colour scheme through with my triangles!

I do hope you like my cards and I'd love to know how you get back into a creative frame of mind following a break.

Thanks for calling by and catch you again soon.

Introducing... Background Builders Classics & Sentiments Outlined

Hey!

Welcome to Day 1 of the July 2019 Release product introductions.

I've been waiting for this day for AGES and now this is the fun part where myself, my guest designer and the design team get to show you LOTS of inspiration! You get to see all the sneak peeks I've shared over the past two days in action on cards & projects over the next few days leading up to 26th, July, Release Day!

Today's products are two new clear stamp set, another addition to the Background Builders collection, featuring classic designs and then a new mini clear stamp set featuring 3 fun sentiments in an outlined font.

Let's have a quick look at both sets in action on one card...

I've used nearly all of the Background Builders Classic clear stamps to create this fun and colourful background. I used my Misti to keep my stamps lined up nicely and evenly spaced apart, plus it was useful for the solid line stamps as I had to stamp them a couple of times. I desperately need some re-inkers for some of my favourite Altenew colours!

Once I had finished stamping, I decided to trim down the panel, adhering it to a strip of PTI Smokey Shadow CS and then onto my card base. I then placed the sentiment I wanted to use in my small Misti, but decided to mask off part of the sentiment to use just the word celebrate.

I saved the rest of the colourful stamped pattern, you can check that card out over on the website blog! Link below ;)

It wouldn't be a release without a daily blog hop full of inspiration!

As usual my AWESOME Design Team and wonderful Guest Designer this month, Keren Baker have worked their magic with today's products, so be sure to hop along & see them...
