{"id":25125,"date":"2020-12-27T19:53:46","date_gmt":"2020-12-28T00:53:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/round-lake.dustinice.workers.dev:443\/https\/uncustomary.org\/?p=25125"},"modified":"2020-12-27T19:53:46","modified_gmt":"2020-12-28T00:53:46","slug":"aprils-christmas-tent-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/round-lake.dustinice.workers.dev:443\/https\/uncustomary.org\/aprils-christmas-tent-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"April&#8217;s Christmas Tent 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/round-lake.dustinice.workers.dev:443\/https\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tsd7lqP0E9w\" width=\"700\" height=\"415\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My wonderful friend, April, usually has a Christmas party that would put any other party you&#8217;ve been to feel like amateur hour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This year, she not only wasn&#8217;t able to go forward with her own amazing business idea, but we obviously couldn&#8217;t have a party.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Right before Christmas, she surprised us, by telling us she had worked on something in her backyard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">She worked tirelessly, and she had a bunch of friends contribute funds to cover the costs of supplies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">But mostly, she used what she had and her own vision to create a safe space where one party at a time could walk through, and experience each room in a private, safe way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It was incredible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Everything was safe, and I cried the first time I went through. I\u2019ve come to this space from a sincere desire of wanting to be happy, not naturally being happy. I know this is work. And I\u2019m doing it with you. I believe in play is more powerful than meditation. I\u2019m blunt. My methods are founded in psychology and science, and I\u2019m also optimistic. I\u2019m a good teacher. I\u2019ve taught adults how to read. Perhaps most importantly, I am here to get you to take action, not just to theoretically understand something. Tangibility will always win over theory.
