Vesper Infrastructure Partners

Following the successful final close of the Fund at the end of March, Vesper Next Generation Infrastructure Fund I held its inaugural AGM this week in a beautiful (yet rainy) Milan. Great to see so many of the Fund's investors and supporters join to receive a fulsome update on the Fund's activity and performance, views around the changing macro economic environment and how the Fund is positioned to weather the volatility and grow. It was an honour to welcome Erik Fossing Nielsen, who presented a fantastic and insightful keynote speech on a number of very relevant and pointed observations of the current state of the infrastructure market in Europe and globally. 

We are proud to have supported the Fund in reaching the >€1bn milestone, in one of the most difficult fundraising environments in recent decades. Vesper Next Gen Infra Fund I is now the largest first time infra fund raised since 2023. The Fund received commitments from highly sophisticated international investors from North America and Europe, a testament to the Fund's strategy and differentiated offering.  This is the culmination of three years of very hard work and determination - starting from a completely blank slate in Q1 2023. Vesper now boasts four offices in London, Milan, Hambourg and Madrid and a team of close to 20.  A team driven by Vesper's founding partners - Livio, Alfredo, Paola, Giacomo, Olaf, and Guillermo - as well as the unwavering support and energy from the broader team (Alexis, Martina, Andrea, Nicola, Astrid, Luca, Larissa and Frances); who joined Vesper with a shared vision and conviction. Thanks to Fiona, Ivano and Thorsten for their guidance and support to the GP. And of course the dream team at Linklaters - and in particular, Anna, Adrien, Justine and Luis, who work tirelessly to support the Fund.

Delighted to share the news of a well-deserved promotion: Alexis Lagorce to Investment Manager. Alexis was Vesper's very first hire and has been with the firm since September 2023. Alexis took a leap joining a scrappy "start-up" with a shared ambition to be part of an exciting story. Since joining, Alexis has made consistently strong contributions to the team and played a critical role across three investments that the Fund has entered into: RADx, EAG and SAF Aerogroup. Alexis continues to support the portfolio and broader team strategy with great spirit. Congratulations to Alexis! Further positive developments at the Fund's portfolio company - Bio Hold - which has successfully closed a c.€100 million project financing, complemented by an additional €60 million accordion facility, to support the development of new biomethane infrastructure in Italy.   The financing, structured by UniCredit as Global Coordinator & Bookrunner, Mandated Lead Arranger and Agent Bank, together with Crédit Agricole Italia as Mandated Lead Arranger, will fund the construction of six plants within a broader portfolio of 12 assets currently under development and a pipeline of approximately 20 projects.   This milestone represents a key step in Bio Hold’s industrial growth path and reinforces the Fund's commitment to building next-generation infrastructure platforms that accelerate the energy transition. The flexible structure of the financing also positions Bio Hold to seize future acquisition and development opportunities while maintaining a solid financial framework aligned with the Fund's long-term strategy.   #Infrastructure #EnergyTransition #Biomethane #Renewables #ProjectFinance #Sustainability

Reporting from the ground in Norway. The team (Alfredo Maria De Falco, and Nicola Di Nardo) recently visited one of the Fund's portfolio companies, Terakraft. Good progress in the construction and build-out at the data centre site in Sauda (Norway). The project is on track to be delivered according to the investment plan, as the Fund looks to present a leading solution for European customers. As a key pillar of value creation, Vesper's approach to "build-to-core" remains a real and tangible way of driving a successful investment strategy. Fantastic progress in Nothern Ireland for Vesper portfolio company EAG Bionergy - big strides as it works on its biomethane expansion projects. Once operational, the facility is expected to displace approximately c.8% of the natural gas currently used in the northwest region of the network, with renewable, locally produced, biomethane gas.

He previously worked at Partners Group in Milan and Zug, where he was part of the European Infrastructure Direct team.
