🏆 Celebrating the Enterprise Lab Awards 2026 winners! 🎉
Last night, at our Big Summer Social, we celebrated the people who make Imperial’s entrepreneurial community such a vibrant, supportive and inspiring place to be.
The Enterprise Lab Awards 2026 recognise the founders, academics, professional staff, mentors and experts who are not only achieving incredible things themselves, but helping others to do the same.
A huge congratulations to our winners:
🏆 Founder Community Champion: Louise Lenborg Skajem
For being the kind of founder who gives back. Louise consistently shares insights, connects founders with useful resources, gets involved across the community and proudly champions programmes she believes will benefit fellow founders.
🏆 Academic Entrepreneur: Sam Cooper
Since founding Polaron in 2023, Sam has taken the venture from proof of concept to commercial engagement at remarkable speed. Polaron secured the inaugural £1m Manchester Prize for AI and in February 2026, raised $8m in seed funding. A fantastic example of research being translated into real-world impact.
🏆 Professional Staff Supporter: Katie Colledge
Since joining the Enterprise Lab in July 2025, Katie has transformed our data and operations. From creating a 10-year dataset and developing Beauhurst cohort reports, to improving startup identification and reporting, she has brought structure, insight and care to the way we understand and support entrepreneurial activity across Imperial.
🏆 Expert of the Year: Christos Kapatos, PhD
Founders describe Christos as “extremely valuable”, “amazing” and “exceptionally insightful”, and the impact of his support speaks for itself. His expertise and connections have helped ventures navigate fundraising, business models, IP and sector-specific HealthTech and MedTech challenges, while his generosity extends well beyond the coaching session.
🏆 Mentor of the Year: Jenny Chong
Jenny has been mentoring Imperial ventures since 2020 and is one of our most active and highly regarded mentors. She goes far beyond the traditional mentoring role, supporting the wider Enterprise Lab mission and making powerful connections, including introducing ORUK to the MedTech SuperConnector, now in its fourth year of supporting the programme.
🏆 Student Alumni Entrepreneur: Chloe So
A huge year for Chloe and her venture, PulpaTronics From winning the H&M Foundation Global Change Award and being named a Forbes 30 Under 30, to securing B Corp certification, raising £430k, and reaching #14 in the 2026 Startups 100 Index, Chloe continues to demonstrate the potential of innovation to create meaningful environmental impact.
Congratulations to Louise, Sam, Katie, Christos, Jenny and Chloe, and a huge thank you to everyone who nominated, supported and celebrated the incredible people in our community. ❤️
