At ORCA Computing, we are putting quantum to work across a range of industry use cases like novel breakthroughs in pharmaceuticals and advanced materials. Our CEO and Co-Founder, Richard Murray, discusses how quantum and nature could be the key to solving problems we aren't even considering yet - like converting sunlight into food and energy. ORCA Computing is growing 🪴 Last month we welcomed two new faces to our commercial team: Chloe Follon joins as Director of Marketing, ahead of our next-generation product launching this autumn. Eleanor (Ella) Richardson joins as Senior Commercial Analyst, helping shape go-to-market for our quantum-accelerated data centre solutions. Welcome to the team, both! We're hiring: Senior Pre-Sales Engineer (Applied ML / HPC) - join us at the front line of commercialising quantum: building demos, shaping solution architectures, and turning interest into deployed systems. 📍 Central London, hybrid. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/deJzGk9N

"We have the clear view that quantum can be useful before error correction." TechJournal.uk revisits a panel that our CEO Richard Murray joined at Commercialising Quantum Global in London. Here Richard made the case that the industry earns trust through applications and benchmarking. "At ORCA Computing, we’re trying to make quantum relevant to commercial organisations by bringing the cost down to a few million dollars, so it makes sense alongside an investment in GPUs and other infrastructure. We build hardware based on photonics that is datacentre-ready... Our systems are rack-mounted, room temperature, and can be installed into a datacentre in a matter of hours, not days, weeks or years." When your AI needs more runway, accelerate with quantum. Thanks for the mention Digital Realty! Installing our next-generation system at the DRIL this autumn is an exciting milestone for ORCA Computing! This marks the first step in delivering commercial quantum advantage. 🎉
Quantum computing needs the right data center infrastructure to flourish. That’s been ORCA Computing's requirement from day one. And it’s why their newest flagship PT3 photonic quantum system will be deployed at the Digital Realty Innovation Lab (DRIL) in London, operating in a production-grade environment alongside standard data center infrastructure, available now for enterprises to explore and validate. Hear from Richard Murray, Co-founder and CEO, ORCA Computing. 👉 Ready to see it for yourself? How do photonic circuits behave as they scale? 📈 New research from ORCA Computing, Imperial College London and University of Oxford, shows that photonic systems stay trainable as they scale, while maintaining a provable edge over classical methods. These are backed up by results from ORCA’s PT-2 photonic quantum accelerator. Photonics has always been one of the most practical routes to useful quantum computing. This is a real step toward showing it can also be one of the most scalable.
