How does the Univers VaultLock® Glenoid System perform at 5 years postoperatively? While reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) has grown in popularity, anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty (aTSA) continues to offer excellent outcomes in select patients. Glenoid loosening after aTSA has been a key failure modality, which has been mitigated by improvements in implant design. It is important to monitor patients with newer implant designs to their mid- and long-term follow-up points to assure excellent survivorship and maintained outcomes. A recent study published in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (JSES) from the ShARC examined radiographic and clinical outcomes of the Arthrex VaultLock polyethylene glenoid at 2 and 5 years postoperatively. Key findings: · 119 patients met inclusion criteria with 5-year radiographic and clinical follow-up · Clinical survival rate at 5 years was 99% · Radiographic survival rate at 5 years was 95% · Humeral head autograft within the central peg was associated with lower rates of radiolucencies These results demonstrate high radiographic and clinical survivorship at midterm follow-up. Outcomes are consistent with previously published data on all-polyethylene glenoids and support the use of an uncemented central-peg, all-polyethylene component in aTSA. KreuLock™ compression screws deliver controlled interfragmentary compression for fracture fixation and arthrodesis. The variable-stepped thread pitch advances efficiently through bone while progressively compressing fragments as the screw is seated. The locking head also mates securely with the Arthrex clavicle plates, providing a stable construct while allowing for screw insertion up to 12 degrees off axis. What actively drives tissue regeneration? As part of the Healing Diamond framework, regenerative cells are key contributors to tissue repair, supporting new tissue formation through proliferation, differentiation, and paracrine signaling. Their activity plays a critical role in how tissue heals, especially at complex interfaces such as tendon-to-bone and cartilage repair zones. Driving innovation in orthobiologics. We're proud to see the Arthrex Angel® PRP System used in a landmark outpatient intraosseous PRP injection to treat a talar osteochondral defect (OCD) with associated subchondral pathology, performed by Dr Botchey and the team at HCA The Shard. This milestone reflects the continued progress of orthobiologics and the expanding possibilities for outpatient care. #ArthrexUK #AngelPRP #Orthobiologics Dr Sam B.

What sets biological healing in motion? The Healing Diamond framework highlights growth factors as key signaling molecules that help initiate the healing process and guide tissue repair. Their role is especially important in tissues with limited vascularity, such as tendons, ligaments, and cartilage, where biological signaling may be naturally reduced. Visit our website to explore how biologics can help support growth factor availability in your procedures—and why every step is Better with BIO™. https://lnkd.in/eJced9tq #ArthrexUK
