GeeSeven

GeeSeven, one of the latest works from Sir Tim Rice.

Filmed in Truro Cathedral, with the young Choristers.

It's different, it contains some interesting thoughts about the number 7, and was written for children, to make the  G7 Summit more relevant to them. The plan is for thousands of schoolchildren  in different countries to sing this during the G7 summit later in the year ,working together as part of a programme called Sing2G7.

In the Summer, Cornwall will be hosting the G7 Summit meeting in a seaside village called Carbis Bay.

I can't imagine the amount of security there will have to be , with world leaders taking part..

Carbis Bay hotel.

I can imagine it - we had the NATO summit near us a few years back; what a palaver!

I'm a little perplexed about the song/cathedral/children and purpose of it. Beautiful voices and beautiful cathedral.

What a beautiful part of the country to hold such a meeting. I hope the delegates have the opportunity to appreciate their surroundings

Ellen, I think the purpose was to include children into thinking about the importance of world affairs, particularly climate change. Tim Rice lives in Cornwall and has connections with the choir and with Truro Cathedral..

This was fabulous to hear and watch. I'd forgotten Truro has a cathedral - and it's stunning. Bob and I sat together and played it. We always enjoy young people singing in choirs and choruses - probably because we were involved in granddaughter Jasmin's school choir for several years and know how much they practice and give to share their God-given talent.

Yes, it will be a crazy time for such a small tucked away community.
A bit like Port Isaac hosting the Doc Martin gang - but less fun!!!!

Thank you Barbara XX

I enjoyed watching and listening to this piece. How exciting, even if it will be a crazy time for everyone in your community.
