Sea Sun Greetings from Nigel

Lucky last to the party is Nigel,

he's celebrating a sunny summer Christmas at the beach

with Shazza and Steve.

   

Nigel is a pre-coloured digital stamp from the Sandy Christmas digital stamp set by Beccy's Place.  I sized the image in Silhouette Studio to fit on an A2 card and added my very own "Sea Sun Greetings" sentiment.  The two card panels fitted perfectly on Letter sized cardstock, so all I had to do was send it to print, slice the sheet in half, score the two panels in half and soon had two fun summery Christmas cards.

W is for Warm Winter Wishes

How cute is this snowman smashing his way through the ice?

This cute “Smash Snowman” image is from Day 13 of the Christmas Craft Countdown event on the Craft With Sarah blog.  There was a group of “smash” images shared as part of this project.  The images were originally designed for sublimation printing on vinyl for ironing on t-shirts, canvas, fabric etc.  These PNG format images also work well with cardstock and I think they make for fun card designs.

I opened the Smash Snowman image in Silhouette Studio along with the "Warm Winter Wishes" digital sentiment from the Seasonal Window digital stamp set by Beccy’s Place.  It was like they were made for each other, as the font used for "winter" in the sentiment curved up perfectly to align with the bottom of the image ... I sure planned that well didn't I?  I sized the image and sentiment to fit on a 5 1/2" square panel, aligned it to sit on the bottom left of a Letter sized panel then printed on Letter sized 300gsm smooth white cardstock.  I scored the sheet at 5 1/2", burnished the fold and trimmed the right side edge to 5 1/2" and had a cute top folding card was formed, so cute I had to make two.

I combined the Bearing Gifts pre-coloured digital image (FREE, see links below) with the "Make It Merry" digital sentiment from the Stanley Clause digital stamp set by Beccy’s Place to create this tall slimline card design.  I printed the image panels on Letter sized 300gsm smooth white cardstock, scored at 3 1/2", burnished the folds and trimmed to size.

Day 23 - CASE Yourself

It's time for the 11th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.

Day 23 - CASE Yourself

Well, I will be the first to confess that as we draw to the end of the month and the alphabet, I am getting more nervous about what I can create.  I was thrilled to see that “U” had not appeared as expected, today’s prompt is "CASE Yourself" and I am MORE than happy to work with that, even if it is only delaying the inevitable.  Earlier this month I made a pair of CAS cards using the Single Bell image from the Jingle Bell digital stamp set by Beccy’s Place.  After some digital tweaking, I was able to make it look like the bells were hanging from the top fold of the card.  It was lovely to get such positive feedback from Beccy at the time, as I am often filled with self-doubt.

Needless to say, I’m CASE-ing THESE cards, with a slight addition.

Usually I add “made with love by Tracy” on the back of my cards, sometimes handwritten, sometimes printed and cut to a small shape, then adhered to the back.  Today, with this CAS card design, I was able to add my “label” by printing it at the same time as my card panel.  All I had to do was position it “just right” and turn it upside-down, so that when I printed it on Letter sized cardstock, trimmed to size, scored and folded, the “label” was on the lower back of the card.  To finish them off, I added a touch of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush sparkle to each bell and soon had six more CAS slimline Christmas cards.

The two cards on the left were my originals.

The ones on the right are from the six "bonus" ones,

they come with my "label" already in place on the back. 

My cards still have the same CAS design

and the same luscious silver sparkle.

In summary, these wide slimline cards use the "Single Bell" pre-coloured digital stamp and "Merry Little Christmas" digital sentiment from the Jingle Bell digital stamp set by Beccy’s Place.  I replicated the bells (making a trio), sizing the them all differently and flipped one so that the bow was facing opposite the others.  I arranged the bells at different heights and sized sentiment to fit nicely together on an 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" panel.  I created a "made with love by Tracy" label, rotated and positioned it to go on the back of the cards, printed the cards on 300gsm smooth white cardstock, scored the top folds at 3 1/2", formed the card, burnished the fold and trimmed to size.  One last thing was needed to finish the cards off, a magical touch of sparkle with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to all the bells.

Day 20 - R

R is for Ribbon

... and a Ribbon trimmed card 

This cute card uses the "Merle" pre-coloured stamp and the "Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Lights" digital sentiment from the Merle digital stamp set by Beccy’s Place.  I opened the digital stamp and sentiment in Silhouette Studio, along with a fancy fold card base, a Scalloped Centre Step Card cut file (details below) and sized everything to fit.  I printed the image panel on textured cardstock and cut the card base and accent strips from textured cardstock too.  Once cut, I burnished the folds, adhered the Fairy Lights Christmas ribbon to the cardstock strips and assembled the card.

I love the cheery colours and texture of the ribbon,

a perfect match for poor tangled Merle.

   

Another great thing about this fancy fold is that even though it opens

with lots of dimension, it folds flat to 5 1/2" wide x 4.25" tall

and fits inside an A2 envelope for mailing.

Day 5 - Same But Different

 It's time for the 11th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.

Day 5 - Same But Different

Earlier today I shared my Day 14 - L is for Layers card HERE.

While matting the image panel I wondered how I could make this design without any matting, with the bell strings hanging from the top card fold.  Now you can see, yes, I could make it and I'm thrilled with how this single layered CAS card design turned out.

My wide slimline card with a trio of jingle bells started in Silhouette Studio.

I opened the "Single Bell" pre-coloured digital stamp and "Merry Little Christmas" digital sentiment from the Jingle Bell digital stamp set by Beccy’s Place.  I replicated the bells so that I had three to work with, I sized them all differently and flipped one so that the bow was facing opposite the others.  I arranged the bells at different heights and sized sentiment to fit nicely together on an 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" panel.

Instead of printing the panel for a card front, I wanted this CAS card to be a single layer, the image printed then folded to form a slimline card.  I set up my mat to be Letter size (8 1/2" x 11"), created a rectangle the same size (Letter) and centre aligned it on the mat.  I aligned the image panel with the bottom of the rectangle then centre aligned it.  I printed the panel on 300gsm smooth white cardstock, scored the top folds at 3 1/2", formed the card, burnished the fold and trimmed to size.  The bell strings lined up perfectly along the top fold and looks so pretty.  It's my new "one-sheet-wonder".  (There's no waste either, as the panel trimmed off can become a

matting layer for another slimline card later, a win-win.)

One last thing was needed to finish the cards off, a magical touch of

sparkle with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to all the bells.

I love the delicate sparkle from Wink of Stella

but it's so hard to capture it in photos ...

trust me, it's there and it twinkles in the light from all angles,

a real delicate, luscious sparkle on the smooth cardstock.
