Cultural architect, musician, producer, and digital innovator with 40+ years shaping Go-Go music from the stage to the screen.

Every role taught me something essential. Every setback revealed a truth. Here's how it all unfolded.
It started with Experience Unlimited (EU) in the early '80s—stage crew work that offered a ground-level view of Go-Go at its absolute peak. By 1985, I was working as a stage technician for Rare Essence, learning the mechanics behind the magic, the technical foundations that made the music hit different.
In 1991, I officially joined Rare Essence as a keyboardist—a role I held for over a decade. This wasn't just performing; it was creating. I earned production credits on some of the band's most influential 1990s records, helping shape the sound that defined an era.
Continued the musical journey with the band 911, performing alongside Donnell Floyd at the legendary Chuck Brown Birthday Celebration Live at the 9:30 Club. This was about honoring the roots while pushing the culture forward.
Partnered with Reginald "Polo" Burrell of TCB and entrepreneur Ben Abba to create and market the Bounce Beat sound—a Go-Go subgenre that sparked the "Beat Your Feet" dance movement. When Wale licensed TCB's "Bait" for his Ambition album through Warner Music Group in 2011, Go-Go reached new heights. I helped make that deal happen.
Go-Go became more than music—it became a tool for connection and advocacy. Co-owner of Go-GoRoyalty.com, I've expanded the culture's reach globally. Through collaborations with Moechella founder Yaddiya and the "Don't Mute DC" movement, I helped position Go-Go as a unifying force. Instrumental in opening the Go-Go Museum and Cafe, I worked with Monumental Sports on the Capital City Go-Go naming, secured COVID-19 relief for Go-Go bands, and now pioneer 360° virtual experiences, digital archiving, and AI for Go-Go culture.
Forty years in Go-Go taught me this: you can't preserve culture from the outside looking in. You preserve it by living it, by showing up for the community when it matters, by using every connection you've built to open doors for the next generation.
Go-Go survives because it adapts. From Bounce Beat to streaming platforms to digital marketing and AI—innovation doesn't dilute tradition, it extends it.
Every move I've made—from "Don't Mute DC" to COVID relief—starts with the people. The bands, the fans, the city. They're the heartbeat.
40+ years in, I'm still building. Still connecting. Still making sure Go-Go's voice gets louder, not quieter. That's how you honor what came before.
Today, I work with artists, cultural organizations, and innovators who understand that Go-Go is more than a genre—it's a movement. My work spans music production, cultural advocacy, platform development, and strategic partnerships.
