A Blooming Birthday

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. The theme for this month is SPRING hence I decided to work with the Spring Flower Layering Dies and combined it with a stamped frame and sentiment from the Fluttery set.

I cut the Spring Flower from my card front, added an extra layer to it and adhered it to the inside of my card to align with the aperture in my card front.

I kept my colour scheme pretty minimalist, but you can of course add more colour by inlaying the petals with a contrasting colour.

A Celebration Of Spring

Hello Crafty Friends!

Over at STAMPlorations they are celebrating Spring. Each day during the run-up to Easter their DT will feature Spring themed makes plus there'll be lots of prizes to be won.

Here is my DT piece ...

This card was inspired by a look at our garden and the work needed to tidy it up after the winter. A hot cuppa always helps.

The main image is one of STAMPlorations new, soon to be released digi stamps which I re-sized before printing. It's coloured using Twinkling H2Os. I was really surprised how well it worked on inkjet paper.

A bit of background stamping with leaves and splatters, some doodles with a white gel pen through my stencil plus a bit of shading and my background was ready.

The butterfly is heat embossed and coloured using H2Os.

Spring & Faith - March Challenge over at STAMPlorations

It's time for the March Challenge over at STAMPlorations, As my DT contribution, I made a set of ATCs ...

As you probably guessed, the theme for this month is 'Spring And Faith'. You may remember that STAMPlorations currently have only one challenge to give Shery time to settle into a new routine having recently given birth to their second daughter Winter.

Here are the simple rules for the challenge:

• You may create any type of project -- cards (any style), mixed media, tags, layout, etc -- as long as it follows their theme

• STAMPlorations product is not required though they’d love to see it

• You may enter as many times as you want – as long as each project has its own blog post

• You must display the challenge graphic below + link back to the challenge page to qualify for the prizes

• You must comment on the entry before yours in the gallery – lets spread the love

• For an extra chance, comment on the challenge post and the designers’ blog posts throughout the month

My ATCs were made from a piece of background I made mopping up some Daffodil Delight ink from my craft mat, after spritzing with a little water of course. I simply added some stenciling using the Senecio 1 Stencil and Brusho prints using the shapes from the stencil; I had used the shapes as masks for another project, and they still had some Brusho colour on them, it shows up in the ATCs as flecks of orange and green. Here is a little close-up ...

The little post of Spring flowers is stamped and Promarker coloured. I finished off with sentiments, doodles and gems.

By the way, Faith to me is more like a deep inner knowing that everything will work out fine in the end as difficult as it is sometimes to stick with it. Fear and conscious/subconscious chatter can get in the way a bit. What is your interpretation of Faith?

The Best Is Yet To Come

How time flies! Two weeks have passed, and it is time for a new challenge over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making cards for the men in our lives. Here is my DT project ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #80 we are looking for something re-cycled or re-purposed. Lots of scope there!

#80 - Re-cycle - 28th February

I had this little tin lying around always intending to use it sometimes. Just a side note, please be aware that other brands of peanuts do exist. I got these a few years ago from a local shop in the UK.

I turned it into a desk tidy for my hubby. The newsprint paper was originally cream hence I sponged it using a few shades of blue. I simply stamped some butterflies and signposts before attaching it to my tin using double sided tape.

I then added the ribbon and die-cut words ...

... and finished off with my white embossed and die-cut sentiment label.
