Video: 2 injured after gunman opens fire near New York subway station

Two men were injured after a gunman opened fire near a busy subway station in New York City's Bronx on Thursday evening, NY police said.The shooting happened at around 6 p.m. outside the West Farms Square-E Tremont Avenue subway station. Surveillance footage from the area showed a man wearing a white hoodie walking towards a plaza before firing several shots in the direction of a group gathered near a shop.Video from the scene also captured people fleeing as the gunman escaped. One man was seen tumbling over a bench and rolling onto the pavement, although it was not immediately clear whether he had been hit by gunfire.According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), a 20-year-old man was shot in the leg, while a 31-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks.Both victims were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.Police have not confirmed whether the two injured men were the intended targets or were caught in the gunfire by chance.The suspect fled the scene after the shooting. No arrests had been announced as of Thursday night, and the investigation remains ongoing.
