Puducherry’s Education Department has declared a two-day holiday on August 21 and 22, 2026, for 69 government and private schools serving as examination centres for the SSC CGL Examination 2025. The centres include 53 schools in Puducherry, eight in Karaikal, three in Mahe and five in Yanam. The closure will allow schools to prepare for the examination scheduled from August 21 to 23. Compensatory working days will be announced later by the department.

Saurav Das alleged police visited his family home for questioning. He accused the Puducherry government of intimidation tactics. Police stated the visit was for routine security checks. These checks occurred ahead of Independence Day celebrations. The police denied any political motive behind their actions.
