Eighty years after India became independent, global opinion of our country is almost evenly divided, according to a new survey by the US-based Pew Research Centre.
Across 36 countries, a median of 45% have a favourable view of India, while 41% have an unfavourable view. The survey was conducted between February and May 2026.
