The Telugu cinema icon Chiranjeevi celebrated his birthday on August 22, 2026 and several fans and celebs from Mammootty to Allu Arjun, shared wishes for the Megastar. Despite him at the age of 71, the actor has maintained a disciplined approach to fitness. His training has also become an important part of preparing for physically demanding movie roles.
The actor's workout videos which he shares frequently on social media handles, have given fans a glimpse into his exercise routine.
Weight training remains part of his workout
From the videos, resistance training appears to be a regular feature of Chiranjeevi's fitness regimen. The actor has shared workout clips featuring dumbbells and barbells and his exercises focus on different muscle groups, including the arms, shoulders and chest.
His workout sessions also include conditioning exercises. Earlier videos showed the actor using battle ropes along with weights. Rope drills can challenge muscular endurance while also adding a cardiovascular component to a workout.
Doctor explains importance of fitness after 60
Chiranjeevi's fitness at 71 has also highlighted the importance of maintaining physical activity with age. Strength, mobility and balance can become increasingly important as people get older.
Speaking to NDTV, Dr. Sanjay Raina explained, "71-year-old Chiranjeevi is still so active, which brings out an important medical fact, that aging is inevitable but the fall of the body is not necessarily inevitable at the same pace. After 60, the real battle is not just against weight gain but against the progressive loss of muscle strength, mobility, balance and metabolic resilience."
Harsha Vardhan praises Chiranjeevi's discipline
Chiranjeevi has also received praise from his co-stars for his commitment to fitness. Harsha Vardhan, who worked with him in 'Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu', previously spoke about the veteran actor's physical discipline.
Earlier, speaking to SumanTV Vijayawada, Harsha Vardhan said, “I cannot compare myself to Chiranjeevi — especially in terms of fitness. It’s not about age. What matters is the passion to stay fit. The fire in him is different. His goals are different. There is so much to learn from him. He doesn’t use body pads to look fit. He is naturally built like that. He has extreme command over his body. He has performed several unique stunts and dance steps — and that’s not possible without having full control over your body.”
Chiranjeevi has also shared his own thoughts on maintaining his fitness. In an earlier Instagram post, he wrote, "Every day is another opportunity to push beyond limits…Charged up and excited for another memorable journey with my dear @director.bobby for #Mega158."

Directed by Bobby Kolli, the action entertainer features Chiranjeevi as K. Satyam. His character is described as an aqua industry supervisor with a hidden past.
