With the release of ‘Karuppu,’ South cinema witnesses the unfolding of box office success. The Suriya and Trisha Krishnan starrer mythological drama has been drawing in audiences into the theatres from day 1. The movie made a strong opening on Friday and benefited from the weekend surge. 'Karuppu' box office collections day 4

According to Sacnilk, on day 4, the movie collected Rs 14.30 net in India across 5,947 shows. Released in Tamil and Telugu, the movie earned Rs 12.10 crore from the former and Rs 2.20 crore from the latter version.Compared with the Sunday collection of Rs 28.35 crore, the film saw a 49.6 per cent drop. This has pushed Karuppu’s India gross collection to Rs 95.30 crore, and net earnings to Rs 82.30 crore so far.Further, in the overseas market, the movie added Rs 4 crore to the tally on day 4, bringing the gross to Rs 46.00 crore. With this, the worldwide gross collection of ‘Karuppu’ stands at Rs 141.30 Cr.

Day-wise collections of 'Karuppu'

On the first day of its released, the movie openned with Rs 15.50 crore in net collection in the domestic market.
The openning weeked saw growth, with the film earning Rs 24.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 28.35 crore on Sunday. Thereafter, as aforementioned, on Monday, with a drop, the film collected Rs 14.30 crore.

This RJ Balaji-directed film is a mythological story with divine justice. It follows the tale of a father and daughter who become the victims of a corrupt and predatory legal system.
