Ranveer Singh's 'Pralay' UPDATE: Jai Mehta directs post-apocalyptic action thriller starts shooting in Mumbai

After the success of 'Dhurandhar', Ranveer Singh is all set for a new outing 'Pralay', which is touted as a post-apocalyptic thriller.Ranveer Singh has now started shooting for 'Pralay' in Mumbai. The project marks an important new step for the actor, as he is also making his debut as a producer with the film. The first schedule is now underway in the city, as reported by PTI. Directed by Jai Mehta, 'Pralay' is being developed as an original survival and action thriller. The movie is set against the backdrop of Mumbai. It combines large-scale spectacle with an emotional story centred on human survival. The narrative reportedly explores courage, resilience and the instinct to protect what matters most.Jai Mehta, known for his work on 'Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story', is directing 'Pralay'.Kalyani Priyadarshan is part of the cast of 'Pralay'. The actress, who recently appeared in 'Lokah', will share the screen with Ranveer Singh in the upcoming movie. 'Pralay' was originally planned to be filmed in Australia. However, the production schedule was later shifted to Mumbai. A recent India Today report linked the change to Ranveer Singh's decision to remain close to his wife, Deepika Padukone. According to the report, Ranveer Singh did not want to spend an extended period away from Deepika Padukone as they prepare to welcome their second child. The India Today report stated, "Ranveer wants to be around Deepika as they embrace parenthood for the second time. He doesn't want to be away, and hence the production is making arrangements to shift the schedule here in the city."'Pralay' comes after Ranveer Singh's latest release, 'Dhurandhar The Revenge'. The Aditya Dhar directorial reportedly crossed Rs 1,800 crore worldwide. Ranveer Singh played Hamza Ali Mazari and Jaskirat Singh Rangi in the movie. 'Dhurandhar The Revenge' also featured R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, among others.
