Govt teacher dismissed for slapping student near Karur

Karur: A temporary teacher at a panchayat union middle school near Kulithalai in Karur district has been dismissed from service after an inquiry confirmed that he hit a Class VI student for failing to bring an essay notebook to school.The incident took place at Kumaramangalam on Wednesday. After the student told his parents that Saravanan, a Tamil teacher, hit him, they approached headmaster Sowdambika and lodged a complaint. The student was then taken to Kulithalai GH.Following the complaint, the district educational officer directed Kulithalai block educational officer Manimala to conduct an inquiry. Manimala visited the school and questioned the headmaster and teachers. Subsequently, she confirmed the incident.Based on a report submitted to the chief educational officer, the district educational officer ordered the dismissal of Saravanan from his position at the school.
