IIT-P holds convocation for hybrid programme scholars

Patna: As many as 2,620 successful scholars of hybrid academic programmes received their degrees at the second annual convocation of Indian Institute of Technology-Patna (IIT-P) held here on Monday. Eight of them were awarded gold and silver medals on the occasion.Giving away degrees and medals to the scholars, the state’s former DGP Abhayanand motivated them to harness their knowledge to create social change through their academic excellence and innovation. He lauded students’ adaptability and dedication in successfully navigating the rigorous hybrid academic programs and transitioning from their academic to professional journey.The vice-chancellor of Jai Prakash University-Chhapra, Premendra Vajpai, and IIT-P director T N Singh also called upon the degree recipients to serve their country with full dedication for ensuring its all-round economic and technological advancement. The CEO and managing director of Tata Steel and chairperson of the board of governors of IIT-P, T V Narendra, joined the convocation virtually and shared his insights.Presenting the annual report, IIT-P director T N Singh highlighted the institute’s recent milestones, technological advancements, and future aspirations.Scholars who were awarded gold and medals for their outstanding performance in examinations included Aastha Anand (BSc in computer science and data analytics), Rohit Kumar (MBA), Kajal Sharma (MTech in cloud computing), Arunarka Mukhopadhyay (MTech in AI and data science engineering), Himanshi Goyal (MBA-finance), Alok Mishra (MTech in computer science and engineering), Ashutosh Kumar Thakur (BBA), Charu Mishra (MTech in Big Data and block chain), Aastha Anand (BSc in computer science and data analytics) and Rohit Kumar (MBA).
