Gadkari orders civic bodies to solve citizen problems on war footing

Nagpur: Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari on Sunday directed civic and govt authorities to address citizens’ grievances on a ‘war footing’ during his public outreach programme at Gadkari Wada in Mahal.A large number of citizens attended the programme and submitted representations concerning various civic, administrative and personal issues.Gadkari directed the officials concerned to immediately take up the representations falling under their respective departments and work towards resolving them at the earliest. He asked the officials to understand the concerns raised by citizens and ensure that appropriate solutions were found without unnecessary delays.The programme also saw citizens thanking Gadkari for action taken on some of their earlier representations. The minister instructed officials to maintain follow-up on pending grievances and ensure that people received relief wherever possible.Persons with disabilities also approached Gadkari seeking artificial limbs and other assistive equipment. He directed officials from CRC present at the programme to make the required equipment available to the applicants.The outreach programme also included an interaction with Mixed Martial Arts athletes from Army Cantonment. The athletes met Gadkari after being selected to participate in an international competition. Gadkari congratulated them on their achievement and wished them success in their upcoming tournaments.Officials from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), district collector’s office, health department, police, Setu office, Mahavitaran, South Central Zone Cultural Centre, CRC and other departments were present.
