Man allegedly kills stranger in Thrissur subway

Thrissur: A 32-year-old man allegedly murdered an unidentified person in a subway near the south gate of Vadakkunatha Temple on Thursday morning. The police have taken into custody Sarat, a resident of Valakkavu, in connection with the incident.They said Sarat had a history of attacking strangers without any provocation. The police also said that there were reports that he had previously sought medical treatment for mental health issues.According to preliminary information, Sarat first attacked the man near the south gate of the temple and the victim reportedly retaliated. The two then moved into the nearby subway, where Sarat allegedly assaulted the victim again. The man sustained serious injuries and died shortly afterwards.The police said they were trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify the victim.
