Guest worker, wife electrocuted

Thrissur: A 26-year-old guest worker from Assam and his 23-year-old wife were electrocuted after coming into contact with a live electric fence at a poultry farm at Desamangalam Thalassery, near Cheruthuruthy, around 9am on Sunday.The victims are Sofiqul Islam, and his wife, Ruksana Khatun.The couple worked at the poultry farm and the electric fence had been erected around the farm to deter wild animals from straying onto the premises.Another person living in the area noticed the couple’s bodies and alerted the police. Their bodies have been shifted to Thrissur Govt Medical College Hospital.The couple are survived by their two children, aged two and three.
