Arjun Ayanki gets bail in cybercrime case
Kannur: Thalassery chief judicial magistrate court on Saturday granted bail to Arjun Ayanki, who is accused in multiple cases, including gold robbery. The bail was granted in a case registered by Kannur cybercrime police. However, he will continue in jail as he is accused in other criminal cases and Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (Kaapa) was invoked against him.
The Kaapa order was issued based on a recommendation submitted by Kannur city police commissioner to the district collector. According to the order, Arjun poses a threat to society and there is a possibility that he may be involved in more criminal activities if he is released on bail.
Now, Arjun is in judicial custody, and the police will formally record a fresh arrest of the accused based on the Kaapa order. Later, he will be sent to Kannur Central jail.
