BRS to launch wk-long campaign against Congress govt

Hyderabad: BRS will launch a week-long, state-wide campaign from Sept 2 to highlight what it describes as the Congress govt’s failures and unfulfilled promises as it completes 1,000 days in office.BRS working president KT Rama Rao issued directions to senior leaders during a teleconference, asking them to take the campaign to every section of society.KTR said Congress had come to power promising 420 commitments, 13 declarations and six guarantees, with assurances that they would be implemented within 100 days. He alleged that even after 1,000 days, the govt had failed to fully implement a single promise.As part of the campaign, BRS will revive its ‘Baaki Cards’ to highlight pending financial assistance and benefits promised to farmers, agricultural labourers, senior citizens, women, students and youth.KTR directed party leaders to highlight fee reimbursement dues of more than ₹12,000 crore and alleged that Congress govt had failed to address the concerns of students and parents.The party will also organise separate programmes for women, farmers, youth, students, Dalits, BCs, tribals, auto drivers, govt employees and pensioners, focusing on their specific grievances and alleged unfulfilled promises.KTR said the campaign should also highlight what he described as administrative failures and problems faced by people during the govt’s tenure.He directed MPs, MLAs, MLCs, constituency in-charges and other functionaries to participate in programmes at constituency, mandal, village and ward levels.He also asked the party’s social media teams to use innovative campaigns to reach younger voters.
