Police put up barricades and increased security outside the district magistrate’s office as the protesters arrived to voice their anger at the state govt and the district’s minister-in-charge, Saurabh Bahuguna. The protesters alleged that funds under the District Plan had been allocated “without enough transparency” and claimed that Yamunotri had been treated “unfairly”.Dobhal warned that the protests would continue until authorities revised the District Plan. “The protest will be intensified in the coming days and, if necessary, a march will be undertaken to the minister’s residence,” he said.
