Dehradun: Uttarakhand has been ranked among the country's top five states for controlling and tackling cyber crime during a review of the Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI) initiative conducted by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in New Delhi on Thursday, state police said on Friday.The review assessed the performance of police departments in states and Union Territories between Jan 1 and July 31 on multiple parameters related to cyber crime response and investigation.DGP Deepam Seth said the evaluation covered registration of e-zero FIRs, the grievance redressal module, money restoration module, information sharing, the Sahyog portal and coordination with other departments.“To feature in the country’s top five states in controlling cyber crime is a matter of immense pride for the state police. It is the result of coordinated efforts by the state govt, police, STF and other related departments,” said Seth.He added that Uttarakhand Police were focused not only on curbing cyber crime but also on extending every possible assistance to victims.“We are committed to providing a safe cyber environment to the people of the state by effectively controlling and tackling cyber crime cases,” said Seth.
