Twist in Lucknow double-murder suicide: Wife’s Rs 1.5 crore alimony demand emerges as likely motive for killings

A banker allegedly murdered his wife and sister in a double murder-suicide incident. Divya Mishra sought a Rs 1.5 crore financial settlement in her divorce proceedings. Strained relations over Manas Bajpayi's sister, Sheeba, also contributed to the marital discord. Police are investigating the killings as a pre-planned sequence of events. Digital evidence and witness statements are being analyzed to establish the motive.

Police uncovered a plot to assassinate a scholar from Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama. Six individuals, including lawyers and a madrassa manager, were arrested in connection with the conspiracy. The accused hired two men for Rs 2 lakh to carry out the murder. Investigators believe a property dispute served as the primary motive for the assassination attempt. The investigation continues to determine all involved parties and the firearm's origin.
