CM Vijay appoints his constituency district secretary as Tamil Nadu Housing Board chairman

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu govt on Tuesday appointed V Siva, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam's Chennai North district secretary, as the Tamil Nadu Housing Board chairman.Siva, whose district covers chief minister C Joseph Vijay's Perambur constituency, played a key role in the CM's election campaign, and has been associated with him through the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam since its inception.The state housing dept issued a GO on the appointment.The appoint comes after 'Poochi' Murugan, former housing board chairman, resigned from the post on May 5. Siva met the chief minister at the secretariat to receive the appointment.The housing board, instrumental in constructing low, middle and higher income group apartments and selling plots, has seven IAS officers as its board members, headed by secretary R Kirlosh Kumar. The chairman will play a key role in coordination and approval of projects.
