Second life term for convict in Maloya murder
Chandigarh: A district court on Friday sentenced Monu Kumar to a second life term for the murder of a 40-year-old woman from Maloya whose body was found in a forest area in January 2022. Already serving life imprisonment in the rape and murder case of an MBA student, Kumar was linked to the Maloya case through DNA evidence that matched samples recovered from both crime scenes. Police had identified him as a taxi driver from Shahpura Colony and arrested him after he returned to Chandigarh months later. The latest verdict adds another life sentence to his conviction record.
