Bhiwani school in-charge suspended after CJP video flags school meal, infra lapses

BHIWANI: A govt primary school in Sangwan village has come under scrutiny after a Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) video flagged alleged lapses in the mid-day meal and poor infrastructure, prompting the education department to suspend the school in-charge and remove two cooks.The CJP team visited the school on August 18 under its ‘School Theek Karo’ campaign and released a video purportedly showing insects in foodgrain, ants among peanuts stored in a polythene bag, cracked classroom walls and poorly maintained toilets.Bhiwani district elementary education officer (DEEO) Vinay Kumar Jindal on Saturday said he had suspended school in-charge and JBT teacher Suman for alleged negligence.A show-cause notice was also issued to the mid-day meal in-charge.Jindal said the school has around 40 students and three teachers.Two teachers have been assigned booth level officer (BLO) duties for the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise, but Suman was not among them.Following her suspension, the department deputed a teacher from another school to ensure classes continued and arranged a cook for the mid-day meal.CJP member Lokesh questioned the suspension, saying it would not address the underlying problems.He said the department should instead ensure adequate teachers, safe food and repairs to the school building and toilets.
