Murder for pvt parts: Two accused sent to judicial custody after police remand ends
Bhopal: The two accused adults — Zoheb Khan and Aamir Qureshi — in the grisly murder and mutilation of a 16-year-old boy, allegedly to trade his testicles in the international market, were sent to judicial custody on Saturday after their police remand ended.
Meanwhile, based on information gathered from them during interrogation, the police carried out searches and recovered the clothes and cap that they were wearing during the crime and later discarded. Other items allegedly used in the crime were also recovered.
Three minors, who were previously taken into police remand in the wake of the murder, are currently lodged in a juvenile home.
ACP Santosh Patel, who is leading the probe in the case, said the police also verified the shop from where the accused claimed to have bought the knife used in the murder and the blade used allegedly to slice off his private parts.
The police also verified with the scrap dealer, whom Zohaib claimed to have sold his car in the crime’s aftermath for Rs 23,000. The car was, thereafter, dismantled at a kabadkhana (scrap yard), according to reports.
The sleuths said they have secured four pieces of CCTV footage in which the accused is purportedly seen taking the 16-year-old with them on the day he was murdered.
The probe, meanwhile, revealed that the accused allegedly kept the body part in the car for two days. Police said they were attempting to sell it for Rs 1.20 crore, adding that their alleged contact with a woman and a man was also being investigated.
In a related development, ACP Patel fulfilled a wish that the 16-year-old had stated before he was killed. The boy had reportedly wanted his mother to get dentures, saying she had difficulty eating and chewing.
Dr Ateeq Khan from Jinsi, Jehangirabad examined his mother, along with his medical team, at Shyamla Hills police station. “Her dental measurements were taken. The dentures will be fitted soon,” ACP Patel said.
