A month after love marriage, 28-year-old man found hanging at rented home in UP

BAREILLY: A 28-year-old man was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his rented home in UP's Bareilly on Sunday, nearly a month after he married a woman against the wishes of some of his family members, according to news agency PTI.
The deceased, identified as Faizan, was a resident of Navadiya village and worked as a ward boy at a private hospital. He had married 22-year-old Jasmine, and the couple had been living in a rented house in the CB Ganj police station area.
According to police, Faizan went to bed after having dinner on Saturday night. Jasmine, who was sleeping in the same room, told police that she discovered him hanging from the ceiling fan with a dupatta when she woke up on Sunday morning.
She informed her family and Faizan's relatives about the incident, following which the police were contacted.
Police said some of Faizan's family members were unhappy with his marriage and had stopped maintaining contact with him. According to Jasmine, he had been under stress because of the strained relationship with his family.
Faizan's relatives, however, raised questions over the circumstances of his death. They told police that blood was coming from his head and expressed suspicion about what had happened.
Circle Officer (City-2) Nitin Kumar said police had examined the scene, collected evidence and recorded statements from family members.
He said the exact cause of Faizan's death would be established after the post-mortem examination.
Police said further action would be taken after considering the post-mortem findings, evidence gathered from the scene and statements recorded during the investigation.
