Patna: Former Siwan district magistrate Vivek Ranjan Maitreya continues to remain on the waiting list in the General Administration Department (GAD) a week after his removal following the July 25 AK-47 firing incident during a student protest, even as the state govt transferred 23 IAS officers in a late-night reshuffle on Saturday.
Maitreya was removed as Siwan DM on Aug 17 after the firing incident triggered political and administrative scrutiny. While the govt assigned new responsibilities to 23 IAS officers, including officers of the 2022 and 2023 batches and trainee officers of the 2024 batch, Maitreya was not given a fresh posting.
The reshuffle is significant as 12 IAS officers of the 2024 batch have received their first field postings after completing training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, on Aug 20.
Among the key appointments, Krishna Joshi has been posted as sub-divisional officer (SDO), Barh. A native of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, Joshi secured the 73rd rank in the UPSC civil services examination in 2023 on her first attempt. Her posting has drawn attention as Barh-Mokama is considered an administratively sensitive subdivision with a history of strongman politics.
Shreya Sri, who had been awaiting posting in the general administration department, has been appointed deputy development commissioner (DDC)-cum-chief executive officer (CEO) of Khagaria Zila Parishad.
Anirudh Pandey (2023 batch) has been transferred from SDO, Danapur, and posted as municipal commissioner of Purnia Municipal Corporation, while Tushar Kumar (2023 batch), earlier SDO, Purnia, has been appointed DDC-cum-CEO of Madhubani Zila Parishad.
Pradyuman Singh Yadav has been shifted from SDO, Katihar, and appointed director, food processing. Akanksha Anand, formerly SDO, Muzaffarpur West, has been posted as DDC-cum-CEO of Sasaram Zila Parishad in Rohtas district.
Garima Lohia, who was serving as SDO, Barh, has been appointed municipal commissioner of Darbhanga Municipal Corporation. Anjali Sharma has been transferred from the post of SDO, Areraj, and appointed director, disability, in the social welfare department.
Rohit Kardam has been posted as DDC-cum-CEO of Kaimur Zila Parishad, while Shiksha Vijay Kumar Choudhary has been appointed DDC-cum-CEO of Jamui Zila Parishad. Dr Neha Kumari has been posted as DDC-cum-CEO of Katihar Zila Parishad, and Krishna Chandra Gupta has been appointed inspector general of registration in the prohibition, excise and registration department.
