a little pixel art i did recently for a local event. i borrowed the planets from my artist friend, Kit, and added a little bit to them. also swiped the palette from them and added a few extra colors.

whoa. forgot to post about this game jam i did last September. another great GBJam experience! worked with a slightly bigger team and just did art this time– working with another great pixel artist as well!
Cozy Cosmos is a game i helped make for GB Jam 11! it’s a game jam that for Game Boy like games. this time i did all the coding and worked with a fantastic artist friend of mine and an amazing musician, Hyphen Pixel! it was a great experience working with both of them and i’m pretty happy with the game overall, although i didn’t get nearly as much done as i’d hoped.
we talked about having a shop with upgrades you can purchase and a boss, none of which got put in and songs and art didn’t get used because i’m too slow and was pretty busy during the jam period. :(
i’m hoping to add those things in over the next month or so and release a post-jam update.
another art prompt (islands). spent a bit more time on this one (around 4 hours). i played around with a few different brushes and tried to create some nice textures. this was done 100% from my imagination and didn’t use any reference. there are some things i could improve, but i kind of surprised myself with how it turned out.
a little Nidhogg animation i did for a jam game (Global Game Jam). i spent waaaay too much time on this and i’m not even sure if it will end up in the game lol. (edit: it did. here’s the game: https://pigfungus.itch.io/ratatoskr)
some more pixel arts and drawings i’ve done over the last few years, mostly for game jams. the girl is a remake i did of a character portrait i thought was hideous (from Biomenace, an old DOS game). my version is on the right– hopefully that’s obvious. most of the games can by found on my itch page. hand-drawn ones are from this GGJ game.
for practice, i reworked a run cycle by Brandon James Greer that i thought could use a little improvement. here’s his video for reference: https://youtu.be/Kb9KR5CvSoQ
kind of punk plant guy? idk
btw i’m using my monster prompt generator to come up with these ideas
