Six Degrees of Separation, June 2026

June. The weather is strange in the north west of England, and on this first Saturday of the month our central heating came on this morning. I don’t know how many degrees below the threshold on the thermostat that the temperature fell. It probably wasn’t six. That would have been too coincidental.

For Six Degrees of Separation this month, our host Kate has chosen The Post Office Girl by Stefan Zweig as our starting point. You can find out more about the meme at Books Are My Favourite and Best.

Six Degrees of Separation, May 2026

This month, our host Kate has chosen Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy as our starting point. You can find out more about the meme at Books Are My Favourite and Best.

Six Degrees of Separation, January 2026

New Year, new month, and the first Saturday of both. Time for Six Degrees of Separation!

It has been a while. Almost three years, in fact. I’ve seen the posts in my WordPress reader, but today’s the first time I’ve felt the urge to join in. Over at host Kate’s blog, Books Are My Favourite and Best, I see we’re to start with the last book from last month’s chain, or the last book we read. I’m doing neither. Six Degrees of Separation: From Born to Run to Dangerous Liaisons

Is it really April already? That means it’s time for Six Degrees of Separation, the book meme hosted by Kate at Books Are My Favourite And Best where we start with the same book and then create a chain of six books that link to the one before. Which is handy for me because I’ve rarely read Kate’s starting book.

This month, Kate’s starting book is Bruce Springsteen’s autobiography Born to Run. I haven’t read it. I’m not that interested in Bruce.

Six Degrees of Separation: From Passages to Industrial Roots

It’s March. I’ve had a couple of months off from Six Degrees of Separation, but this month’s starting book made me think about my mum’s bookshelves in the late 1970s and I decided to join in again.

Six Degrees of Separation: From The Naked Chef to Like Water for Chocolate

We have an unusual starting book for this month’s Six Degrees of Separation. Our host Kathy at Books Are My Favourite And Best has chosen Jamie Oliver’s The Naked Chef as our chain inspiration. I haven’t read anyone else’s chains yet, as is my wont, but I’m looking forward to seeing how we all fare. If you’re unfamiliar with this literary meme, you can find the rules here.
