Sales engagement software automates the cadence a rep runs against a list of prospects: email, LinkedIn and call touches scheduled in sequence, with replies routed back to a person. It is a narrower, more mechanical job than sales enablement's content-and-coaching problem.
This guide ranks it on what a rep actually pays per seat, whether the vendor publishes that price, and how much of a prospecting operation depends on one company's continued goodwill.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry
says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a
vendor. How that works.
In short
What sales engagement software does
Sales engagement software schedules and sends the email, LinkedIn and call touches in a cadence against a list of prospects, tracks opens, clicks and replies, and hands a rep the ones that need a human response.
In this order: setup effort, what it really costs, how your data comes back out, whether
you can leave, and who each sales engagement tool is built for. One rule sits on top of those tests:
Places 1 to 3 go to challengers, vendors outside the best-known brands in a category, wherever the category has them; the established names follow from place 4 in their ranked order. Why those five, and why there is no
score out of ten, is on the how we work page.

Country is where the vendor is headquartered or contracts from, which is a
different question from where your data is hosted. Where the two tell different stories, the
entry says so.
Brussels-based multichannel prospecting, rebranded from Prospect.io and now owned by Sortlist
Ranked #1 of 11 in Best Sales Engagement Software in 2026.
Published pricingEurope
Founded in 2015 as the Chrome extension Prospect.io, rebranded and since acquired by Brussels agency Sortlist, it pairs published per-user pricing with a large built-in contact database. Salesforce integration is reserved for the custom Enterprise tier, and the credit-based model, 250 credits a user a month on Starter, can be restrictive for heavy list-building.

French multichannel prospecting across LinkedIn, email, X and calls

Covers one of the broadest channel mixes on this list, LinkedIn, email, X and calls in one sequence, sent from the cloud through dedicated mobile proxies built to protect the LinkedIn account behind it.
The entry Basic plan runs LinkedIn and email only; calls arrive on Pro and X steps only on Ultimate. Pricing is published but structured per sending identity rather than per user, which gets expensive with several identities. The operating company, B3 SAS, is registered in Saint-Mandé.

The smallest and least internationally known name here, but a genuine multichannel platform, email, LinkedIn and SMS, hosted on OVH servers in France, with no plan tiers: every feature is included and the price moves only with LinkedIn accounts, sender mailboxes and enrichment volume.
The €25 headline is a starting point rather than a real campaign's cost, and Waalaxy's €19 Pro plan starts lower. The operating company, KA-Groupe SAS, is registered in Paris.

The most complete published-pricing option in this category: unlimited users and 50,000 emails a month on the entry tier, with LinkedIn, SMS and a call dialer on the Multichannel plan and WhatsApp as an add-on.
LinkedIn and calling sequences only arrive once you step up from the entry Email plan, which is priced per user at $87 a month on annual billing, and SSO still needs a custom Enterprise quote.

Clean per-user pricing across three tiers, with unlimited campaigns even on the entry Pro plan. Cold email only arrives on the top Business tier alongside a modest 500 email-finder credits a month, so a team wanting LinkedIn and email equally will outgrow the entry tier fast.

Dutch cloud-based LinkedIn automation with no browser extension
Ranked #6 of 11 in Best Sales Engagement Software in 2026.
Published pricingEurope
Runs campaigns from a dedicated cloud IP rather than a browser extension, the detail LinkedIn-automation buyers ask about most after an account gets restricted elsewhere. Pricing is a single published Business tier with an annual discount, so there's no cheaper entry point for a solo user testing the waters.
Polish cold-email sequencing on usage-based pricing

If Outreach is already the system reps work in, forecasting from the same activity data is a reasonable consolidation: no extra integration, no second login, and the engagement history behind each deal is already there.
Bought for forecasting alone the economics are poor, because forecasting comes only in the top Amplify Pro package, priced per seat plus AI credits, and you pay for the sequencing platform whether or not you use it. The forecasting side has also been renamed and repackaged, which makes multi-year planning around it harder than around a dedicated vendor.

Sales engagement software schedules and sends the email, LinkedIn and call touches in a cadence against a list of prospects, tracks opens, clicks and replies, and hands a rep the ones that need a human response. The differences that matter are rarely in the feature list, so this is
the order we would work through them.
01
Decide whether you need a published price
8 of the 11 tools here publish what they cost; the other 3 quote per organisation. The ones you can compare without a sales call: Overloop, La Growth Machine, Magileads, Lemlist, Waalaxy, Expandi, Woodpecker.co, Apollo.io.
02
Decide how much the jurisdiction matters
These 11 vendors are established in 5 countries across 2 regions (Europe 7, North America 4). That decides whose disclosure law applies to what the vendor holds, wherever the servers are.
LinkedIn-first or email-first settles the shortlist
Waalaxy and Expandi start from LinkedIn; Woodpecker.co starts from cold email and sells LinkedIn as a separate add-on per account.
Lemlist, La Growth Machine and Magileads mix channels in one sequence, though Lemlist holds LinkedIn and calling back from its entry Email plan and Waalaxy keeps cold email for its top Business tier. Read the tier table, not the homepage.
Write down the channel order of your best cadence and find the cheapest plan that runs it.
Ask whether a reply on one channel stops the touches queued on the others.
If SMS, X or WhatsApp steps matter, check which plan carries them.
The LinkedIn profile is the asset at risk
LinkedIn restricts accounts that automate too visibly, so how a tool sends matters more than how many steps it offers.
Expandi runs campaigns from a dedicated cloud IP instead of a browser extension, and La Growth Machine sends through dedicated mobile proxies. Both designs exist for the day a rep's profile gets restricted and years of connections go quiet with it.
Ask exactly where actions originate: the rep's browser, a cloud IP or a proxy.
Find out which daily limits are enforced by default and whether reps can override them.
Ask what happens to running campaigns when an account is restricted.
Per user, per identity, per prospect: the meters disagree
Waalaxy and Overloop charge per user. La Growth Machine charges per sending identity, which gets expensive when one person runs several. Woodpecker.co bills per 100 contacted prospects with unlimited seats, and Lemlist includes unlimited users on its entry tier.
Overloop layers credits on top, which can pinch heavy list-building. A five-rep team and a solo founder with three identities get opposite answers.
Count sending identities and mailboxes, not just people.
Multiply Woodpecker.co's rate by the prospects you contact in a strong month.
Ask what a credit buys and whether unused ones carry over.
The quote-only platforms sell far more than cadences
Outreach, Salesloft and Groove publish no prices, and what they quote reaches well beyond sequencing: Outreach adds forecasting and deal-risk flagging, Salesloft conversation intelligence, Groove a Salesforce-native build.
Apollo.io sits in between, folding a contact database into the workspace and offering a Free plan with sequencing. Salesloft and Clari completed their merger in December 2025 and now trade as one company under the Salesloft name, with Groove reduced to a separate login, so ask what its roadmap is.
List which modules in the quote your reps would open every week.
If Salesforce is the system of record, check which plan includes the sync; Overloop reserves it for Enterprise.
Ask Salesloft which of its two sequencing products the roadmap favours.
What goes wrong most often when buying sales engagement software
Buying a LinkedIn-first tool and discovering that email only unlocks on the top tier.
Automating from the founder's personal LinkedIn profile without asking how the tool sends, and losing the account.
Comparing per-user prices with per-identity or per-prospect prices as though they measured the same thing.
Paying for an enterprise sales execution platform when the team only runs three-step email cadences.
