The music within has literally been changing and 'evolving' week by week, month by month since its creation in the year 2013.
As indicated in the title, the piece of music is one hour in length and it's early music 'segments' (which I began recording began in 2013) gradually morphed into the projects' first album 'Version 1: A Kind of Kundalini' in 2016.
The music from 'Version 1', then changed (over 2 years) and flowed into 'Version 2: Tales from Midsummer Fair' (released in 2018) which in turn morphed into 2020's 'Version 3: Places We Remember'.
And so, it will continue, with 'Version 4' penciled in for late 2022 release.
The musical style of The Evolving 9th hour has been described as 'organic chill-out' and it's aim is to help produce a relaxing/meditative atmosphere for that 'late hour' before sleep at night.
The Evolving 9th Hour has been created and developed by Simon Horsefield but contains excellent input from JADE LUNE and Sean Horsefield, who are the key contributors and have remained central to the project since its early years. Both Jade and Sean have also helped in writing and recording music, creating and developing the website, artwork, mastering tracks as well as offering continued constructive advice.
In addition, there have been some amazing one-off contributions from creative guests such as the philosopher/political thinker Noam Chomsky, author Gregory Sams and cosmologist Raja (Puragra) Guha amongst others, with more to come in the future! (See 'contributions' page above for full details)
There is also a new page titled 'Project Overview' which unpacks and explains the ideas from The Evolving 9th Hour in much more detail.
