Uniko June Release: Day 4 introduction

Good morning friends and welcome back to my blog. It's day four and the final day of introductions for Uniko's June release. Today's introduction is another brilliant stencil called 'Ink & Flip: Chevron Duo'. You know how much I love these fantastic stencils; there are so many ways to use them just by flipping the stencils different ways. I needed to make a Father's Day card for my hubby and this stencil was perfect.  I used 4 shades of blue ink pads to create the pattern and kept it really simple (as my husband doesn't really do fussy).
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I made a 5" x 7" card so cut a white panel to 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" and using the 4 ink pads created my background.  I decided to cut the panel along the edge of the stencilling (top and bottom) so that it would have a fun zig-zag edge and I added some scrap white card behind for dimension.  I cut another white panel and added the stencilled piece on top using double sided tape.  I stamped the sentiments above and below the panel with black ink (for the Father's Day I had use the Mother's Day stamp and do some masking and replace the mother with father).  I adhered the panel to the card base with double sided tape.  I didn't add any embellishments as I loved it as it was.  For the inside I cut another white panel and stamped the sentiment in the upper centre with black ink.  I stencilled once again and cut out a small piece to go at the bottom of the panel, which was adhered with liquid glue. The panel was then added to the card base with double sided tape.

Uniko June Release: Day 3 introduction

Good morning friends and welcome back to my blog. It's day three of introductions for Uniko's June release. Our next introduction is a fantastic layering stencil called 'Layering Modern Blooms'.  I know we're not supposed to have favourites but I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it; it's such a pretty stencil and can be used in so many different ways.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4".  I decided not to use the layering stencil as a complete background and created a 'wreath' instead.  I used some masking paper and masked off a large flower and a small flower.  I started with the larger flower and two shades of purple ink and stencilled them positioned like a clock face (12, 3, 6 and 9), I then did the smaller flowers using purple and pink inks in between the larger flowers.  I took the leaf layer and filled in any gaps between the flowers.  There is also a layer that does lots of tiny dots between the flowers if you're making a background, so I decided to use this layer and add a bit more detail to the flower centres using a shade darker ink than what I had used on the first layer.  I trimmed the panel down slightly to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and stamped my sentiment in the centre with black ink.  I added some scrap white card behind my panel and adhered it to the card base with double sided tape.  For a finishing touch I added some tiny black pearls to draw in a bit more black.  For the inside I cut a white panel 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and stencilled some flowers and leaves in the bottom right corner.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre and then adhered the panel to the card base with double sided tape.

Uniko June Release Day 2 Introduction

Good morning friends and welcome back to my blog. It's day two of introductions for Uniko's June release. Our next introduction is a fantastic stencil called 'Ink & Flip: Triangulate'. Bev has quite a lot of these amazing and innovative stencils in her collection now and this one is just as amazing. There are so many possibilities of how to use them.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by stencilling my panel using 4 different ink pads (a yellow, orange, light and dark pink).  Instead of using the whole panel on the front of my card I decided to cut some circles from a white panel and layer it over the stencilled background for a fun, clean and simple layout.  Before adhering them together I stamped the split sentiment using black ink.  The panels were then adhered together with a mix of double sided tape and liquid glue.  I didn't add anything else as I really loved the clean design with the pop of colour from the circles.  For the inside I cut a white panel and stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink.  I had a small piece of the background left over so I cut some small circles and added them to the bottom of the panel with liquid glue (I think they actually look like beach balls so an idea for a future card maybe lol!).  The panel was then adhered to the card base with double sided tape.

Uniko June release: Day 1 introduction

Good morning friends and welcome back to my blog. It's day one of introductions for Uniko's June release.  Our first introduction is 'Background Blocks: Thank You Scramble'.  Bev has previously released a Birthday scramble and also one for Christmas and this one is along the same lines; perfect for a quick and easy card just by colouring the letters or ink blending/smooshing the background.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a larger panel than I needed so that I could save a little piece for the inside.  I stamped the image into the centre and then rotated it and randomly stamped it all around to fill the panel.  I coloured the image in the centre using my Promarkers in rainbow colours. I trimmed down the panel to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and adhered it to my card base with double sided tape.  I decided to do a faux eclipse look so die cut 4 frames using nesting rectangles from black card and layered them together with liquid glue.  I adhered the frame to the panel with liquid glue.  A fairly simple design but I think the black frame and rainbow coloured letters really pack a punch.  For the inside I cut a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and added the leftover strip of the background I created to the bottom with liquid glue; I also added a thin strip of black card along the edge.  I again coloured the letters on the strip with my Promarkers.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink and added the panel to my card base with double sided tape.
