Coastal up-date

I've been adding those little details to my clients home....I enjoy this part of design....it brings everything together....

My clients wanted a coastal/ beachy look.

I need to buy bigger shells for this basket, but I wanted my clients to get an idea of what it will look like with shells in it...

We are still waiting for art work for this wall....the lamp is by R.L.

This was the dining room before we started the redesign. We kept the chairs and had them painted black...

We added wood floors to this area and took out the wall so it would have a better flow...its almost ready to be photographed...

Thanks for stopping by..
Julie

Clients Wainscoting

I survived the O.R.C. and I'm so glad things are back to normal....

It was a great way to get my family room done....or at least for now!

I wanted to share an up-date on the project I'm working on...its been a lot of fun...
The colors and the fabrics are some of my favorites....
The Ralph Lauren in the middle is for the dining room chairs and a pillow for the sofa...
The blue fabric on the right and the stripes are also for pillows...
The red leaf pattern will go on two chairs in the living room and the blue fabric at the top left will be for an ottoman..

The white fabric with the leaf print will be for  drapery...

This and the one below are before shots...we took the wall down behind the chair.

This is what it looks like now...we have a new chandelier coming..its from Aiden Gray...

I can't wait to see it!

The entry way piece will be painted the same color as the walls and go into the living room.
I wanted it to look like it was a built in display area..

This is what the entry way looks like now

This is the living room and part of the entry way piece that will go against the wall....we took the doors off so my client could display items.

We added a window above this one...it lets in so much light and now balances with the other window.
New window...

We are using this chair but stained in a dark walnut...almost black.

This will go on the chairs...the wood floors will start this week and the furniture has been ordered....were just hoping it will be done for Christmas..
Our fingers are crossed!

O.R.C. Up-Date

I can't believe its already Thursday and we are going into our 3rd week participating in the One Room Challenge...

I got the little pillows back and I thought they came out so cute...

And the pillows for the sofa are done..

The one at the bottom is my old pillow...

I've been trying to find a fabric that has  true red with blue and white...

The reds that are being shown right now are more of a orange red or pink red...

I have a feeling its going to take awhile to find...
Patience I guess...

Not my strongest virtue!

These are the larger pillows for the sofa..

The ottoman is being recovered and hopefully will be done in a week and my sofa should be delivered Saturday...I hope!

I still need accessories, but all I saw was  Pumpkins and Christmas decorations when I went shopping...
Yikes!

Wish me luck!
Don't forget to check out the other bloggers participating here

P.S.  I just got an email from the sofa company...my sofa wont be delivered until the 24th..

SHOOT!

Sneak Peak...before and after

Do you remember this home I was working on?
I know...
I'm not very good at showing you images of the room after its done...so I thought I would show you a small glimpse of it before its staged for pictures..
You can check it out the post here and here

This is a picture of the room before we painted and
 bought this pretty rug..

We had the room painted a soft light blue...

I love this antique clock we found at Eloquence...

The coffee table came out perfect..it has a marble top and it was custom made.

This is the fabric we used for drapery,
it has a pale blue and cream stripe in it.

Hopefully I will have professional pictures done soon...

I'm going to follow along with Linda at Calling it Home and participate in the...
 The One room challenge...
Part of the challenge is having the room done in 6 weeks....
I'm going to redo my family room and kitchen...

You can check out her blog here.

Rooms and Gardens in Santa Barbara

Hello there!
It's been a long time since I've written a post. Thank you to all my blog friends who helped keep TG alive during my time off.
I appreciate all of you so much!
As far as an update goes.. my dad is on Hospice and is very ill.
Its been very difficult..

In spite of this difficult time, there has been much to rejoice about.
My daughter is due with her first child in 2 weeks, and my son is expecting their second daughter!

I recently went up to Santa Barbara to celebrate a girlfriends birthday, and of course, we had to stop by my favorite store, Rooms and Gardens. It has a beach-ie California feel that I love

We walked in and my girlfriend said, "Julie! It's like we walked into your home!"
Of course I took this as a major compliment!
I could buy everything in this store.

I want to put these chairs in my family room. Aren't the nail heads a great detail?

I would love to know who manufactured this table!

Loved all the blue and white pottery!

In the midst of all the blues and whites, this floral linen chair stood out...it was adorable!

I would like to thank you all again for your patience in my absence.
Under the circumstances I will be having some more guests posts.

Hope you all have a wonderful upcoming weekend and thank you again!

Lucite...Simple Details...

Hi everyone,
I'm Pam from Simple Details
I share DIY and design projects and
have a love for combining my thrifting and Craigslist finds in my decor.

I'm am happy to be here for Julie while she's with her parents. She's such a
sweetheart and my heart aches for her and all the challenges she's been facing with
her aging parents, they're so fortunate to have her.

I found myself analyzing all of these rooms, and finally noticed the subtle common
denominator that I love!

It's a statement, but in an unexpected quiet way.
I love the modern edge in traditional rooms, contrast with antique pieces,
simplicity, visually weightless and stylish function!
