Sticky: Comic Timelines Yay!
Feb. 8th, 2037 08:54 pmSo, this is a sticky post meant to be helpful for people reading my stories. It's also a coming out post.
See, I've said some of these things to some people in some *places* over the years, but this will be the first time I'm laying it all out... and I have to admit I'm feeling a little shy about it. I mean, I've put a lot of work into figuring out the Batverse+ timeline, and I've read many thousands of comics to cement my theories, but, you know, *most* of those comics *explicitly* blow my theories out of the water. As of right now, it's 2012 in the official DCU and Bruce is in his *thirties*. The same, as we'll see, is not true in Teland. I mean, I'm pretty much physically incapable of imagining Thomas and Martha Wayne surviving the sixties outside of *seriously* alternate AUs.
So... yeah. I'm shy about it.
At the same time, I *have* put a lot of thought into it, and I wouldn't have been able to write my stories -- *any* of my stories of the last six-seven years or so -- without at least the *rudiments* of this timeline. If you're reading a DC story of mine written since 2005 or so, you're reading a story which was written with this timeline in mind. Even the stories which deliberately break the timeline, like the Human Things That Fly series, *started* with me figuring out *how* to fudge things.
One more thing before I get onto it: I *will* be editing and adding to this as time passes and I learn more about these wonderful, wonderful people. Feel free to ask me questions and make me clarify my points!
( Let's Get Dorky! )
Edited 2/23/2012 with some Roy and Connor stuff.
Edited 5/9/2012 with some Clark stuff.
