I took these pictures a couple of years ago, and I was never quite happy with them. I went back to the originals and redid them with minimal processing, and while they are less colorful, I like them better. My favorite The filters had changed the colors. I lost the pink in the clouds, but … Continue reading SUNSET ON THE ROAD HOME

SKETCHBOOK 57 – DAY’S END
We watch "The Ten Commandments" every year at this time, give or take a day. It isn't out of admiration for the movie. It's because over the years it has become downright comedic and Garry just loves watching the Red Sea part for Moses, Moses, Moses. It's a very long movie -- close to four … Continue reading SKETCHBOOK 57 – DAY’S END
SKETCHBOOK 42 – WINTER SUNSET
I did a lot of drawing last night, so this sketchbook will come up a few more times. Meanwhile, I really liked how this one came out. It's very moody. I should have used a bigger piece of paper! This is the view you get at sunset in the winter on our road, which faces … Continue reading SKETCHBOOK 42 – WINTER SUNSET
THE PINK SUNSET
I seldom see sunsets. Our house faces east. Sunsets get lost behind a neighbor's house and some of our biggest trees on the west side of the property. One night, though, the sky turned a truly lovely pink with shots of gold in the clouds -- on the east-facing side. I suppose it had to … Continue reading THE PINK SUNSET
I’VE LOOKED AT CLOUDS FROM BOTH SIDES NOW
One sunset evening, as the sun was setting over the Housatonic River in Connecticut, the sky went wild. If you stood on the dock and rotated, there would be a different color and formation of clouds in each degree of turning. I've never seen a sky like that before. I've seen many sunsets and sunrises, … Continue reading I’VE LOOKED AT CLOUDS FROM BOTH SIDES NOW

There really ARE rays, but are hard to see without help - Scene 2 More pink, less gold - ON1 - Pastel - Scene 3 … Continue reading EARLY EVENING IN MAINE

WEEKEND SKY #135
Weekend Sky #135 – November 3rd - Just a bit late! If there is a photographic "fallback" position, it has to be the sky. Unless you live by the sea, in which case -- sea and sky! Arizona sunset
WEEKEND SKY #133
Weekend Sky #133 – Sep 29th This unusual arrangement of clouds only appeared once. There was an angle between the falling sun and the clouds that made everything burst into color. It hasn't happened again. I'm glad we pulled off the road to catch the photograph.
