BEAUTIFUL BLUE HYDRANGEA

THE BIRTHDAY GIFT THAT KEPT ON GIVING It was a birthday gift -- I think for Garry, though since Garry doesn't garden, all gifted plants are for me. We kept it alive inside for almost two months and then planted it outside in the garden where it grew very nicely for the rest of the … Continue reading BEAUTIFUL BLUE HYDRANGEA

HYDRANGEA

FOTD – Hydrangea The only flower that has ever thrived when brought to life outside after living for several months inside is this hydrangea. We didn't get much blooming this year. Too much rain, too little sun. But the hydrangea -- which started out as my birthday present three years ago -- has done well. Last … Continue reading HYDRANGEA

IN THE BACK GARDEN

FOTD – September 10, 2024 – Still blooming, hydrangeas and stonecrop The hydrangea is still blooming. I think it has been flowering since June. It has changed colors from a warm blue and to pink and white. If you look at it in the right light, it's kind of mauve with light green and white.

BLUE TOO

In the backyard, the hydrangea has finally taken and is growing with energy. I nursed it for months in the house, then Owen nursed it outside. It seems to have paid off.

HYDRANGEA

FOTD – June 17 – Hydrangea Our hydrangea is a true survivor. It began as a potted plant for Garry's birthday three years ago. I managed to nurse it along and we planted it in the back garden. This and the stonecrop are almost the only things blooming this year. Maybe half a dozen daylilies … Continue reading HYDRANGEA

BACKYARD GARDEN AMIDST WEEDS

FOTD - STONECROP AND HYDRANGEAS - SEPT 7, 2021 Although there are a billion weeds, the hydrangea are blooming with enthusiasm as are the stonecrop. It's hard to get pictures of them amidst all the green weeds. But, with the help of a very long lens from the deck above the garden, I got a … Continue reading BACKYARD GARDEN AMIDST WEEDS

#BRIGHTSQUARE – BRIGHTLY, BRIGHTLY GROW THE FLOWERS

As bright as a button, bright as fresh flowers It was Garry's birthday today and his brothers sent flowers. Tulips in a glass vase and a rather large and gorgeous blue hydrangea that will be planted this weekend if we can finally end our season of frost. Our daffodils are beginning to bloom. One bloomed … Continue reading #BRIGHTSQUARE – BRIGHTLY, BRIGHTLY GROW THE FLOWERS

WHITE HYDRANGEA AND MAYBE PINK CRAPE MYRTLE ??

White flowers are always a challenge for me. When these snow-white Hydrangea threw down the gauntlet, I fought back with my Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS-25. Maybe I've finally got it? It turned out the Crape Myrtle was even more of a challenge. It turns out, these huge puffy flowers are hard to get in focus, especially from the long distance … Continue reading WHITE HYDRANGEA AND MAYBE PINK CRAPE MYRTLE ??
