Indiana Women IN Tech Week returns Sept. 13-20 with a statewide series of events designed to celebrate women working in technology, strengthen professional connections and expand pathways into tech careers.

The week also draws attention to persistent representation gaps across the industry. According to Women in Tech Network, women account for 47% of employed adults in the United States but hold only 28% of computing and mathematical roles. Women also make up just 26% of data and artificial intelligence positions, while Black and Hispanic women represent only 3% and 2% of the computing workforce, respectively.

Organizers emphasize that greater representation is not only a matter of inclusion. It is also critical to developing the talent pipelines needed to support a growing technology sector. Women IN Tech Week aims to increase visibility for women already contributing to the industry while helping students, career changers and emerging professionals see clearer opportunities to enter, grow and lead in tech.

This year’s events include speed mentoring with women technology leaders, career-readiness and leadership programming and a panel focused on tech hiring trends, employer priorities and navigating a changing job market. The current calendar includes programming for college students, job seekers, career changers, emerging professionals and established women in technology, with additional events expected to be added.
