TAOS

Simulation of Automated Trading in Intelligent Markets (a.k.a. Sn-79)

  • The movie Interstellar stars a robot called TARS, a.k.a. “Technology Assisted Reference System,” playing a pivotal role towards the end of the movie in helping the humanity to navigate a 5-dimensional tesseract – a Matrix of Reality. In our realm as a Subnet of Bittensor, Subnet 79 called TAOS, a.k.a. “Simulation of Automated Trading” (read backwards), creates L3 MBO limit-order book(s) of the real world, helping to navigate the Matrix of Trading. TAOS is a bit like TARS: TAOS’s basic function is to help to machine the next level of trading incentives.

In clearer terms, the sandbox simulation environment called TAOS will from now on be extending its reach to a real SOTA exchange for dTAO alpha token trading in a new way. This web page dedicated to TAOS remains here and another for MVTRX will be born. The new kind of exchange, MVTRX, will have new type of incentives.

(TARS) Cooper, people couldn’t build this.
(Cooper) Not you and me, but a people, a civilization that’s evolved beyond the four dimensions we know.

  • Check out our latest paper on Dynamic Incentive Structure (DIS): In short, DIS rewards liquidity provision and taking dynamically by zero-sum rebates and fees that adjust dynamically over time. This structure is applied on TAOS now and can find several applications across different exchanges, most notably on the decentralized finance side, where algorithmic execution of smart contracts is relevant. The detailed motivations and operation in practice are discussed here.

  • On 7th of May, 2025, the subnet known as TAOS (Sn-79) finally went live on MainNet Bittensor! Thanks to all those who believed in us and had the patience. Was not easy. This is hopefully only the beginning of a long insightful journey. We will be doing our very best to be worthy of all the wait, and beat the market!
