A Card With A View


Hi! Today I have a card with a view that's making me dream of Spring. To make my card, I used new release dies and stencils from Spellbinders

To make my card, I first used the Vista View Window Die Set to cut white cardstock for the window frame, the back panel that gets stenciled and the window box.


Next, the back panel was stenciled using the Background Scapes Stencils for the mountains and the clouds.


The next step is to die-cut the window box, flowers, grass, butterfly and sun using the Up In The Air View Die Set to cut white cardstock. Inks and a blending brush were then used to color the different pieces. Once the sun was colored, it was glued to the top right of the stenciled panel and the window frame was popped up on the stenciled panel using 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.


The window box was popped up at the bottom of the window and the grass and flowers were glued in.  The butterflies were then glued, one to the grass and one out the window. 
The sentiment was glued to the top left of the window.

Spring Shaker Card

Today's card is a shaker card using the Spring Bunnies Clear set, Nested Pierced Egg Die Set and the 6x6 Paper Pack- Eggstra Bunnies.  I used the Nested Pierced Egg Die Set in two different ways, for the front of the card I made a frame from white cardstock and I also used it for the card base.   To make the base I placed the largest die on a folded white card but had the left side of the die hanging off of the card so after it's cut, it's still attached.

Here's a trick I use to help prevent the shaker card bits from clinging to the acetate, rub the acetate with a new dryer sheet, this helps to remove the static.  Be sure to then rub the acetate with a cloth or paper towel to remove the streaks.

Springtime Smile


Hi there, today I have a card made with four dies and one stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps to make a Springtime card.  The one stamp, Leaf Texture was used to make the background by repeatedly stamping the leaf in different directions using green, pink, and orange inks.  The flowers were die-cut from white cardstock and sponged with the same ink.

Flowers and Sunshine


I had a fun time making the background for the new 6 x 6 Sunny Sketch Rubber Stamp from Stampendous.  It's a beautiful large collage style stamp, so all the work is done for you, you just need to stamp once and your background's done!

Here's how my card was made;
1.  Rub yellow and coral inks on a craft mat, spritz with water and place watercolor paper on top of ink and let dry.
2.  Stamp Sunny Sketch on the dried paper with black ink and emboss with clear.
3.  Layer onto black paper and glue to an orange card.
4.  Stamp sentiment on white cardstock with black ink, emboss with clear embossing powder, layer onto black paper and pop up with foam squares.
5.  Add Red Dot Sparklers.

April Shower Flower


It's been fun sharing springtime House Mouse cards all week long, along with the other Stampendous Design Team members.  Hope you have stopped by the Stampendous Blog to see what the other Designers have been sharing, they're a talented bunch of ladies!

1.  Stamp Crocus Droplet on white cardstock with black ink.
2.  Color with watercolor pencils and shadow with colored pencils. Glue to a green panel.
3.  Lay the Rain Stencil on a white panel and spray with Peacock Feathers spray and glue to a blue card.
4.  Stamp sentiment on white cardstock with black ink and use circle dies to diecut the sentiment and a larger blue circle.  Pop up on card on top of a blue strip of paper.
5.  Add Dot Sparklers around the sentiment.

Daisy Field



I just came a cross this card that I made a little while ago using Stampendous stamps and haven't shared.  Since Spring is right around the corner now is a good time. Here is how it was made;

1.  Stamp Daisy Field on white paper with black ink.
2.  Rub Twisted Citron and Shaded Lilac ink on your craft mat, spritz with water and lay your stamped panel face down on ink.  Rub and move around then let dry.
3.  Paint image with Twinkling H2O's and layer onto a Plum panel.
4.  Wrap the bottom of the card with ribbons and glue panel to a Grasshopper colored card.
5.  Cut a white and black frame using the Fitted Frames A Set.  Stamp sentiment from the Life Words Perfectly Clear Stamp set in Wilted Violet ink.  Layer frames and pop up on ribbon using foam squares.

Create Sunshine


This week I'm sharing the rest of the floral cards I made for the Stampendous April catalog before it's time to reveal the new projects from the July catalog starting July 5th. 

Here is how my card was made;

1.  Stamp Create Sunshine on a white panel with black ink and color with pencils.
2.  Layer onto a Cafe Ole panel and set aside.
3.  Stencil Cathedral Window Large onto a Lilac Mist card with Wilted Violet ink.
4.  Layer Create Sunshine diagonally onto a Tuscon Sun panel and glue to card.

To Cheer You


I love this To Cheer You stamp from Stampendous, it's one big stamp so the layout of your card is done for you! Here is how I made the card;

1.  Stamp image twice on white cardstock with black ink and color two of the butterflies from one sheet with pencils and cut out. Color all of the butterflies on the second sheet.
2.  Now it's time to dust off those chalks you got years ago, using them for the background is quick and easy.  All you have to do is use  a flat brush, apply blue chalks around the butterflies.  I never use a sealer and don't have any problem with it rubbing off.
3.  Bend the wings of the two cut out butterflies and glue onto the colored panel, gluing only the bodies down not the wings.
4. Color the dots white using a white Uniball Signo pen.
5.  Layer onto Plum paper, then onto a Caribbean Sea card.

A Kind Word


Today I'm sharing a quick little Spring card, that for some crazy reason reminds me of me and my daughter. Maybe it's because I gave the momma red hair haha.
This sentiment is so true, you never know how much someone might need to hear a kind word.  I think this momma is saying something loving to her chick.
Here is how my card was made;
  1. Stamp Babuska Chick on Media White paper with black ink and color with Spectrum Noir pens.
  2. Using blue chalk, chalk around the image using a flat brush.
  3. Sprinkle Shabby White Embossing Enamel on the bottom and heat from underneath so it doesn’t blow off. Glue to a yellow panel and tie the right side with ribbon.  Set aside.
  4. Randomly stamp a light purple panel with the flower from the Spring Sentiment set with lavender ink.
  5. Place two thin strips of Sticky Panels at the bottom and emboss with green from the Spring Sparkle Embossing Kit.
  6. Glue Babuska Chick to the purple panel.
  7. Stamp sentiment from the same set on white paper with black ink.  Sponge the edges with lavender ink, layer onto green paper and pop up on the card.

Daisy Circle


I love this Daisy Mix Set and the matching dies! They are easy and fun to color with just a little bit of pencil and embossing powder that not only adds beautiful color, but also sparkle. Here is how it was done.

1.  Die cut a circle out of a yellow panel and glue to a green card.
2.  Stamp sentiment on yellow panel with black ink.
3.  Stamp daisy and leaves on white paper with black ink and shade just a bit with colored pencils.
4.  Color pieces with a VersaMarker pen and emboss with powders from the Spring Sparkle Embossing Kit.
5.  Glue to card as shown.

Hop With Stampendous, DecoArt and Andy Skinner

Stampendous and Media March 2016 Blog Hop-01

Oh what a week we have planned for you! We’re super excited to play with our friends at DecoArt. Mixed Media Artist and DecoArt International Education Coordinator Andy Skinner has designed some fantastic stamps for Stampendous, and we’re going to be showing them off all week long.

1.  To make this card a Mixed Media White Paper panel was covered with Gesso, then painted with a mixture of Matte Medium, Primary Cyan, Titanium White and Interference.  While still wet, a couple of drops of Primary Yellow were added to the extra paint left over, blended and randomly painted onto the panel.  This combination made a real pretty green.
2.  After it was dry the background was stamped with Jet Black StazOn using the peeled paint stamp from the Toxic Set.  Queen Annes Lace was stamped across the bottom.
3.  Once the ink was dry, Gesso was painted in the center and Queen Annes Lace was stamped with Jet Black, watercolored and glued onto a white card with 3 in 1 Glue.
4.  The sentiment from the Spring Sentiments Perfectly Clear Set on white paper with black and diecut using the Fitted Frames A Set and layered onto a larger black frame.
