Woodblock Wednesday - May Edition

Hello and welcome.  Today is another Woodblock Wednesday challenge.  If you're any way like me, then you have lots of woodblock stamps that have been collected over the years, so today, we are being challenged to pull those old woodblock stamps out and show them some love.  My card today is uses a few oldies but goodies.

I started out by stamping an old Hero Arts Pansy Sketch (no longer available) that I received from a friend a few years back and haven't used yet in memento tuxedo black ink on to a watercolor paper panel.  I then pulled out my dusty prismacolor watercolor pencils, colored the image, then blended/water-colored it using an alcohol marker before layering and adding some brads.  My card base is stamped in Tim Holtz broken china distress ink using a long retired Stampin Up background (I think it's Dots n Posies) then added my layered image using glue dots.  As an afterthought, I added a couple of purple silk flowers I've had in my stash for years.  I then blended some tumbled glass distress ink around the image panel before adding a small blue bow, bling and faux stitches to finish the card off.  I really like how it turned out.  The inside has the following saying from A Stamp In The Hand "Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows" by Helen Keller.

PIP Challenge 2320

 Sponsored by

Hello and welcome.  Today begins another challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and this week we're being sponsored by Jan's Digital Stamps.  I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing images for the design team to use.  My card today features the Sing A Song Of Spring digital set.

I started out by combining the image, and saying, using a watermark program before printing on to Hammermill white card stock then colored using both prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz broken china and walnut stain distress inks using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios then layered my image and added vintage copper brads.  I then adhered everything to a pacific pointe card base using glue dots.  The final embellishments were punched photo "holders", a white gel pen highlighting the bird's eyes and some copper bling from I had picked up last year and never used yet. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out especially since I've been dealing with migraines again thanks to the weather whiplash my part of California is having.

Hello and welcome.  Today begins a new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  This week our challenge is being sponsored by Sheepski Designs and I would like to thank them for their sponsorship and for providing the images used by the design team.  My card is a CASE (copy and share everything) of a card I did a while back using the image My Pad since I love how it turned out.

I started out by adding the saying using a watermark program, then printing onto Neenah white card stock and coloring using Koh-i-noor pencils before stippling Tim Holtz distress inks around the edges and layering.  I then added some brushed copper brads and added to a dry embossed card.  After adding some copper cord ribbon, I added some sequins and googlie eyes using Ranger glossy accents before adding some ice stickles to finish it off.

Flowers And Bears

Hello and welcome.  Second post from me today.  For my Pammies Inky Pinkies post, please scroll down one.  As I type, we are finally getting some rain and snow in the nearby mountains here in Central California.  Hopefully as the week goes one, the rain predictions will come true.  In the meantime, I'd like to share a couple of cards with you made with a stamp set from The Cats Pajamas I during their Black Friday sale called Nature's Hello..

Onfer

I started out by stamping my images in memento black onto a Hammermill white scrap then colored it using prismacolor and copic markers before stippling tumbled glass and garden green ink around it.  Once that was done, I layered the main image then dusted off my Crop-A-Dial and some eyelets I received as a RAKAfter adding the eyelets, I stamped the main image for card background using spiced marmalade distress ink. The border was stamped in summer sun.  I then added the layered image before die cutting my sun out twice from scraps; once in summer sun and once in only orange.  After adding the die cut suns using dimensionals, I dusted off my clear epoxy circle stickers and added one to the suns center.  The final touch was crystal ice stickles to the flower centers.

My second card I chose to keep clean and simple (CAS).  Using the same stamp set, I stamped the main image repeatedly in a row in memento tuxedo black ink.  After coloring using prismacolor and copic markers, I layered it once onto a pacific pointe scrap, added the layered image to the card before stamping the saying also in memento black.  I received the saying as RAK and I'm not sure what Stampin Up set it came from.

Hello and welcome to another Pammies Inky Pinkies challenge.  As always our challenges are anything goes.  This week we're sponsored by  CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and I'd like to thank them for the stamps provided to the design team.  For my card, I am using the beautiful Everyday Dragonflies and there are matching dies here

After stamping the larger dragonfly in memento tuxedo black ink onto Neenah white card stock, I colored it using Castle Art Pencils before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass and tattered rose distress inks around it then layered.  Once I had added some brads from my stash, I adhered the layered image to a card made using white card stock and Echo Park Clover Meadow designer paper I've had for years and never used (NBUS) until now before sponging regal rose ink around the edges.  I then stamped the saying in memento tuxedo black onto scrap white card stock then lightly stippling leftover stormy sky ink around it before layering onto scrap card stock and added that to my card using glue dots.  I then took some scrap wasabi card stock, punched it using my dusty Martha Stewart fern punch, ran it through the crimper before adding to the card using Ranger Glossy Accents along with some Jolee's die cut flowers with bling centers.  The final touch was to add crystal ice stickles to the dragonfly's flower centers and hearts.  I'm very happy with how this turned out and I got to use a lot of scraps in the process of making it.

Let's Doodle!

Hello and welcome.   Today is Humor Me Wednesday at Catch The Bug and although my card today isn't humorous, it does reflect my hope for 2021 - Clean And Simple!  My hope for next year is a nice, neat, low stress year especially after everything 2020 has thrown at us!  My card was inspired, not only by the year, but did you know September 20th is Doodle Day?  I sure didn't.

After printing off my Ornamental Flowers 2 image (at 3.5x5 inches ) onto Hammermill white card stock, I colored it using copic markers before lightly stippling the left over tumbled glass ink around the colored image.  The only embellishments used were clear bling crystals and Sakura 3D black glaze pen to highlight the butterflies flight.  A nice clean and simple card great for any occasion.

Finally!!

Hello and welcome!  Yes you are seeing correctly....I've finally stamped and colored again. Whew!  Between the end of 2019 and all of the issues so far with 2020, I'm not sure how much more I can take.  Finally felt decent enough to try coloring and stamping again.

First up is a bookmark I made for my hubby since we're getting a lot of reading done during this quarantine.  I used a couple of retired Stampin Up sets.  Many thanks to my friend Kelli for the Branch Out set.

Next up is a card I made using the never before used (NBUS) Lemonade Stand digi from Kinda Cute By Patricia Alvarez paired with the retired Stampin Up Watercolor Minis set.  I highlighted parts of the image using a Sakura 3D glaze pen, googlie eye, and a rocket ship brad.

Spring Easter Eggs

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made using A and M Memories Springtime Suzette digital stamp for this month's progressive challenge over on the A and M Memories Facebook group.

Once I printed off the image, I colored her using both prismacolor and copic markers.  I then sponged some bermuda bay and marigold morning inks over and around the image before layering and adding some button brads.  She was then added to a card using Echo Park Country Drive designer paper.  I then die cut a butterfly from scrap apricot card stock and lightly sponged marigold morning dye ink on the butterfly edges.  I then added a rose die cut from scrap apricot card stock on a bed of punched fern leaves using glue dots.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day and don't forget to stop by the A and M Memories Instagram, Facebook page and group for more inspiration.  When shopping at the A and M Memories store, don't forget to use my PR code BONNIER15 to receive 15% off your purchases.

Ladybug Spring

Hello and again welcome.  Today I'm sharing a card I made using some NBUS (never before used stuff).  It's amazing what moving uncovers.

I started out by stamping my ladybug/saying stamp in memento tuxedo black onto white card stock then colored using prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I applied some light blue chalk over and around the image and saying.  Then I used my Marvy Uchida mega jumbo scalloped punch to punch the image out before sponging regal rose ink around the edges.  I then adhered the NBUS Echo Park Country Drive to the card before adding a border of K&Co fabric using glue dots then sponged regal rose ink around the card, then added a ribbon.  Once that was finished, I then added the image/saying using dimensionals. I then cut the ancho of a ladybug button off before adding that using pop up glue dots.  My final embellishments were crystal ice stickles and a floral spray I made using Martha Stewart punches.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Having Flies

Hi there!  My second post for today.  For my Festive Friday post, please scroll down one.  Thanks.

The second card I'm sharing with you uses a long retired Stampin Up! set called Frogs and Flies and was made for this week's Clean And Simple Frog challenge over at the Outlawz.  After stamping the main image and coloring with copic markers, I lightly spritzed a green galore marker using the Inkworks Color Spritzer tool before adding some green baby brads as my only embellishment.  Once the layered main image was adhered to the card using glue dots, I inked the edges of the card using memento cottage ivy dye ink.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Run For The Roses

Ok, second post for me today.  To see my Twisted Thursday post, please scroll down one.  Thanks.

Another card to share this time for the Festive Fridays challenge over at the Outlawz.  I decided to use Kentucky Derby Hat Lady from Angel's Hearts & Memories.  After printing the image to fit an A4 size card, I colored her using both my prismacolor and copic markers.  Once that was done, I lightly stippled Tim Holtz tumbled glass and old paper distress inks over and around the image before  layering and adding some Making Memories baby brads. I wanted to keep the card fairly simple so the image would be the main focus,  so the only embellishments I added after sponging ballet blue ink around the card, were the brads was a paper rose and a die cut horseshoe all while having Dan Fogelber's song "Run For The Roses" going thru my head.  In fact, I kind of allowed the song to be my inspiration for the card.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Got A Bug?

Hi there!  Don't you just hate it when you can't sleep at night?  Well last night I had one of those nights thanks to another migraine.  However instead of letting it get to me and crying about it, I decided to try coloring to focus on something else besides pain.  Good  thing too since what I colored just happened to match a new challenge blog I found: Pammies Inky Pinkies.

I took the retired image I had colored from Bugaboo Digital Stamps, stippled some Tim Holtz broken china distress ink around the edges before layering onto bright card stock  and designer paper scraps, then added some Stampin Up! real red brads to hold the whole panel together.  For my card, I stamped out a background using a long retired Stampin Up! Bug Builders set before sponging some green galore ink around the edges of the card, added gross grain ribbon, my image panel, and then my own saying using some Jolee Scrabble stickers before adding a question mark with a black zig pen.

I'm really happy with how this whole card turned out considering the lack of sleep and the migraine on top of it.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Today's card I originally made with my dad in mind until it hit me that my dad's not around anymore to give to him.  This was his kind of humor.  So dad, here's one made in your memory then using a wild buffalo.

I started out by stamping a background using the wheat from Buffalo Spring in Tim Holtz walnut stain distress ink onto some cocoa card stock.  I then stamped the main image in memento black, colored using prismacolor markers and stippled Tim Holtz corduroy distress ink around the edges to "age" the image a bit before stamping the saying and also "aging" with corduroy ink.  After adding vintage brads, my card was done.  I kept it pretty clean with no frills for a masculine looking card.

Today I am sharing a card I made for my step-mom to have for my late father's birthday yesterday.  I wanted to make sure she knew she wasn't alone, or forgotten, when dad's birthday came around and wasn't here anymore.  After I stamped my image from All About Love in memento black then colored using prismacolor markers before stippling some Tim Holtz distress ink around the edges and layering over a baker's twine wrapped red card.  I then stamped part of a saying from Spring Things and then stamped a saying from You Are Cherished on the inside.  My only embellishments were black brads and a silver heart.
