    "Synology Photo / DSM 7.0"

    Edited 2023-05-20

Pros: Auto upload/backup from mobile device (iPhone, iPad, Android).
    Face recognition.
    Timeline.
Sharing all photos with the family.
Self hosted = no space limit.

Cons: Badly missing the shared-space timeline though. it is only available if full access is granted to every user.

Overall: Very good, badly missing the shared-space timeline though.
while timeline is available on private space, for the shared space it can only be made available if full-access is provided to all users - meaning every user can potentially delete pictures from the shared space while this is something only the admin should be allowed to do.

"Easy photo storage on your own cloud."

    Posted 2022-01-04

Pros: I am able to host my own storage in the cloud with my NAS drives. I can easily store photos and receive them quickly when needed.

Cons: Upload/Sync can be slow at times. There is also limited phone support but there is many online resources that can be used.

Overall: I am not limited to storage space on my computer or phone, now I can load my NAS with hard drives and store more than 10TBs of storage. All while being able to access them through the Synology Photos app on my phone.
